About
- World Story -
The game "Ninnin" is set in "Fifty City," where the protagonist lives. Fifty City is a fictional city where ordinary people and ninjas coexist.
Originally, Fifty City was a peaceful place. However, sudden invasions by the ruthless "Hunter" gangs have caused incidents and accidents in various locations. As the city lacked a military presence and only had the police to contend with the gangs, it was challenging to stop them.
To address this, the government recruited mercenaries from the ninja community to combat the gangs. The families of these mercenaries also moved into the city, fostering a coexistence between ninjas and ordinary residents. Thanks to the ninjas, the incidents caused by the gangs have significantly decreased. However, the "Hunter" gangs still hold their ground within the city. Concerned about this, the government officially employed the mercenaries as ninja police to protect the city.
- Game Story -
The protagonist, "Ninnin," was a cute child born and raised in "Fifty City." When they were young, they narrowly escaped being killed by the gangs but received help from a certain ninja police officer. Ever since then, the protagonist held deep respect for ninja police and, although not a ninja, dedicated themselves to intense training and eventually became a member of the ninja police force. Now, faced with the threat against their own life and the city, the protagonist ventures into the "Hunter" gang's hideout to defeat them.
- Game Features -
The game is divided into three sections. Each section features four bosses, and it is a PVE single-player game where you engage in one-on-one battles. Clearing all four bosses in a section allows you to progress to the next section.
In line with the ninja concept, you can use weapons called "Kunai" and bombs for attacks. You also have the ability to perform double jumps and downward jumps, which ordinary people cannot do. The combat mechanics are straightforward, and you cannot change the key bindings for weapon usage in the game.
As you clear sections, the number of available weapons increases by one, and a tutorial ready for the game. Additionally, with each section change, the game's background, and boss designs all change. Although the game continuously features 1:1 boss battles, each boss has different skills and motions to keep the gameplay engaging.
- Developer's Comment -
The playtime is not lengthy, and the difficulty of the bosses is not too challenging compared to other games. Although it may be simpler in comparison, we put a lot of effort into creating it with care. If you want to play a game for a short time before bed, have a little spare time, or just want to see cute pixel characters, playing this game will be helpful. ^^

Solid game, one that shows some real heart. Reminds me of Newgrounds games where they take a pretty simple idea (chucking kunai in a line and jumping around) and try to put you in interesting situations. I wouldn't say I'm impressed necessarily, but for what it is, it's certainly fun enough to be worth a dollar. Cute art, good stage ideas, and updates have been consistent improvements, new content, and Quality of Life changes. At least, I enjoyed myself while playing it. If you have a dollar to spare, give it a shot.
Fun and light hearted little game, certainly worth a dollar if you want to waste a bit of time before bed or look at cute pixel art (as the dev themself mentioned). One nit pick I have is that it seems you can't change the keybinds and the control scheme might not be comfortable for everyone. All in all I definitely enjoyed it.
good game, ninnin goes crazy
Unfortunately, this game is lacking in several ways and I cannot recommend it at this time. I did not initially realize that the game continued after the first section. Perhaps a level select feature could help avoid this misunderstanding. The gameplay could greatly benefit from a couple of additional features, such as the ability to duck and the addition of a downwards attack. More variation in the weapons and abilities available to the player could also help improve the game. The difficulty of the fourth boss is significantly higher than the first three. 17mins of my 20min run was spent on the fourth boss. A more linear increase in difficulty would have made the fights more satisfying. In the second section, gameplay felt a bit more refined, but I found the bomb feature to be useless. The downwards jump would have been a welcome feature to the first section and simplifying the input to just be the down arrow would help it to feel more responsive. I ran into a couple of minor glitches in my playthrough and would be happy to help the devs track them down if they read this and are interested. (I have a video) The level designs, while simple, were reasonably effective. However, the environment sometimes became more of a hindrance to gameplay than I would have liked. Finally, the movement in the air felt a bit sluggish and could probably use some fine tuning.
A simple game with an interesting hidden depth. How are your reflexes?
Despite some issues I'm having with the game, I can say that the updates have given it a nice clean up. My only issues that do hinder my time with it is that due to specific visual problems, those being the lack of resolution and windowed mode options/settings and the screen being very zoomed into the center of the game. I can play through and through but not being able to view the rest of the screen can be quite a problem at times, so I hope this issue of mine can be addressed in some way. EDIT: My issues were addressed! Now the game can have it's resolution changed and the windowed mode works swell, I managed to sit through the game for a lot longer and I can fully say that it's quite fun. Updates aided it well and now it's in a state where I fully recommend people to get it if they desire. I send my regards to the dev, NinNin is quite swell.
Its a fun game but you can just slide the hp bars down
