超硬派!8bitメトロイドヴァニア! 伝統的にして親切!時に苦しめられ、時に助けられるレベルデザインが絶妙! そしてBGMがアツい! こんなにハードな心拍音を聞いたのは初めてです。
What you see is what you get. My only real complaint is the buttons set for controller are ridiculous and you cannot rebind them.
This is not a bad game, but it has a lot of flaws and I don't recommend it at it's current price. I actually enjoyed it as a nice retro throwback to old school Genesis games. I think $5 would have been a much more realistic price point. edit: it looks like the price was adjusted so I'm changing my review to recommended. I think this is a decent game for $5. My stats: 3.5 hours to finish on medium difficulty (there is also easy and hard) 75% item collection 98% map completion Positives

The music is probably the best part of this game. Lots of bangers.
Map works great.
Weapons have somewhat unique characteristics.
Camera feels really smooth and I liked it better than most games in this genre with the exception that sometimes you need to fall down and the camera can't be moved downwards to see where you land.
Fairly smooth difficulty curve. You can grind level-ups if needed. You have plenty of money to buy health items.
Lots of interesting ideas, such as if you die, you get sent back to the title screen but the game shows discovered map areas between your last save and your death in a grey highlight so you know where you went.
Secret areas are telegraphed nicely.
Negatives

The controller support did not work for me. I use an Xbox 1 controller and it works in other games. I ended up going into Big Picture mode and setting up a custom controller configuration which worked fine.
No options for rebinding keys. I only use controller for these types of games but the layout for keyboard looks pretty rough.
Bosses are lame. Two attack patterns at most. They mostly just move back and forth.
There's only one movement upgrade and it does not work particularly well. You also have to spend MP to use it, so I only used it when necessary.
Most of the spells are useless.
Jumping can be wonky, especially after taking damage. Later areas have too many weird jumps with ceilings that you bang into.
Some enemies can "guard" from your attacks and those enemies are really tedious.
The player's animation is pretty bad. Polishing this up would have improved the game feel a lot.
