About
Nightmarise is a challenging climbing game mixed with psychological horror.
When you go to sleep, the nightmare begins. The ultimate goal is simple - you have to wake up. To do that, you'll need to climb and reach the top.
Find your way up through strange structures that don’t belong in the real world. Every jump matters. Every mistake sends you down again. Compete for time, help each other through the nightmare, or just try to reach the top before it consumes what’s left of your sanity.
Between climbs, everything slows down. The game changes perspective, pulling you through darker sections built on tension and raw fear. Survive them to return to the climb and push higher into the dream.
Play solo for a tense, isolated experience, or join up to three friends in a shared nightmare. Coordinate each climb, watch each other fall, and try to keep it together as the dream twists around all of you. Whether you help or compete, only one goal matters - reach the top, alone or together.
The nightmare doesn’t wait. Every second counts as you climb higher, trying to escape as fast as possible. Challenge yourself or your team to escape the nightmare faster with every run.

As it has been a recent trend to try various underrated Steam games, instead of watching the videos I decided to give it a shot myself, and instead of picking something straight out of the trash bin from God knows where, I instead decided to look for something that had a chance of actually being an entertaining game. As it happened, I came across this really freshly released game complete with finished visuals, a teaser video, and a real developer. The price is less than a Big Mac so what does it matter if it disappoints. Well, it didn't. The premise of the game is to climb up, and up, and up, a genre which I wasn't very big on, save for trying Getting Over it With Bennet Foddy once, that one I liked. However that about sums it up for the similarities between the two games, as this one is quite different, the movement is easy to use immediately, however might be hard to master. It's not a realistic climber by any means, I mean the guy jumps up high enough to possibly vault over a teenage boy, and if you only reach the ledge of an object, he might do the climbing animation 5 times, and actually make it. Maybe. Some might find it a tad unrealistic, personally I found it added to my fun quite well. You climb up to a certain chapter, and lo and behold, find out it isn't merely a climber game, but actually has various minigames, ones that are probably relevant to the story, which would probably be greatly improved if there was a narrator of sorts as you play. Or maybe the guy himself talking. Anyway. You complete the minigame (they're not really "mini", but it's hard to find a better name because after completion, you return to the climbing part. Until you finish the game. Speaking of finishing the game... Now is the best time to introduce you to the multiplayer function of the game. You press host and then someone from your friends joins you. I bought it for my brother to do it, and thank God I did, else I would have probably given up on finishing the game. I cannot emphasise this enough - the game improves at least doubly so, when there's someone along with you trying to climb the same parts. This also helps if you aren't that great at platformers, because I'm not, and at parts it really got way too hard (I tend to rush into the gaping void), because if the other player makes it to a checkpoint, you can just press B and go from where he managed to reach. Anyway, in a few hours we did make it. I'm not going to spoil the entire ending, but the character does get the chance to wake up from his nightmare. P.S. if you aren't convinced, dying in the minigames returns you to a spectating zone, which is the guy's room, where you can watch TV and see how the other player is doing. I liked that idea so much, I would pay 3 euros just for that if the game was free to play originally. TL;DR: it's good, but awesome if you get someone to play with you. Maybe the developer is considering a friend's pass, because it's rarely easy to convince a buddy to even try free things, no less paid ones.
this game has potential. Its has alot of lag and is super glitchy. It is a new game so i cant hate on it too much. But it was fun for the bit that my friends and i played before it made us mad with the glitches. Im only recommending it cause i think once they do some big fixes it would be worth it
Coming from someone who doesn't enjoy too many platforms, or endless jump puzzles, this game rules. This review is only from an hour in and one nightmare completed, but I'll be going back for more! Breaking up the long hike up with first person horror content is a nice change for this genre, and I think this game has potential to be a viral hit.
Bon jeu, ambiance horreur très simpatique, quelque passage qui son un peu dure mais c'est très bien il en faut, le seul défaut que je trouves au jeu c'est qu'il est un peu court pour les personnes qui son habitué
Played multiplayer. Was nice. Much easier. Add hard mode without checkpoints. Also. I fell... A lot...
Only Up with horror gameplay. Nice content
