Good game.
RÄTSEL ZUM TEIL TOTAL UNLOGISCH.... SCHADE FÜR DIE ZEIT
I like this game but most of puzzles are really hard so can be really frustrating (and tedious) when you are playing the same puzzle over and over trying to finish it.
As someone who has played the developers other titles (Reah, Mysterious Journey 1 &2, Sentinel), I can say one thing about Detalion adventure games: They are insanely difficult! These are games, meant for people who think algebra is fun. That's quite literately a puzzle in Mysterious Journey 1, where you have to calculate the relative height of a set of pillars. Having only played 3 hours of this, I will say the difficulty has been reduced somewhat. The hint system is not all that helpful. It only seems to state the obvious. As far as the story goes, it's okay. Not great by any stretch of the means. The voice acting is horrendous, but that's the way all Detalion games are. I tend to overlook that. You play this game just to get to the next level, where you get more chances to poke, prod about and gawk at all the gorgeous scenery. If that's what you're looking for, then you'll find enjoyment in this experience. Hopefully, I won't loose my mind over some of these puzzles, like I did with Sentinel and Mysterious Journey 2. Those two games had some of the most ridiculous puzzles! I still have yet to finish Sentinel. It's been installed on an old Win XP laptop of mine for the past 20 years - sitting there, waiting for me to come back. Take another crack at it. OH, BELIEVE ME! I HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT! And you better have the patience of a saint if you're gonna play that game! Nemezis has yet to devolve into that kind of experience. Time will tell. I'll update this review as I go along.
So the game is very cheap in a bad way. * Graphics looks like it's from 2000s * Puzzles are 90% trial and error - very little logic behind them, and if actual logic exists it still forces you to brute force a lot * Story is artificially obscured, and when revealed looks very simple and "sucked from a finger" * Voice acting is school-level * Animations are from 2000s or even 1990s * Pretty short (a plus given above?) Overall this is a very mediocre puzzle game with pretty low quality puzzles also.
The scene is beautiful. Some of the puzzles are nice, but some seem to have no logic or hints. All and all I was disappointed. It is just not fun to play this game. The comment of the guide is also very irritating.
The Verdict Wet Noodle - The experience is mostly bad. (played in English) The Good Some cool visuals / interesting locations The Bad Terrible voice acting paired with an incoherent story. You somewhat need to experience the voice acting to know how bad it is. Puzzle design - both 1 engaging with puzzles and 2 logic (or lack there of). 1 Engagement issues - Puzzles don't have great feedback mechanisms in many cases. You try to test what you have done to help decern the correct answer but the design hinders discovery. EX - bridge puzzle allows you to walk over planks that you should fall through and then you fall through in the middle of the bridge if the input is incorrect, but being able to walk over planks of the wrong input leads you to draw incorrect conclusions. 2 Logic issues - as with other reviews, many of the puzzles are just trial and error (chapter 4 bridge gears, chapter 5 power box arrows). Others are just a matrix - locate numerical inputs from several sources, put them in a grid (final chapter), ta da - both filling in blanks or determining overlap to find the right solution. It feels like trial and error because you often have to go through and map every potential outcome, moving back and forth, to find the one that works (chapter 4 gate puzzle design). Other strange stuff: Interestingly the promo video on the page shows things that they never finished or put in the game. Also it suggests you are trying to find or save some girl but you play as 2 undeveloped characters (brother and sister) kinda just trying to get back to each other. You find laptop logs and post cards but they don't really add anything to the story. Wrap up I love the genre and really tried to like this game but frankly you are better off with other puzzle games - Myst, Riven, Exile, Revelations, Quern, Obduction, Talos, Witness, The Room series.. the list goes on. If you have recommendations let me know.,
It's cool. Some puzzles are not clear of how to solve condition.
