With all the madness that's happening right now, this game is a breath of fresh air. I found the quotes and phrases I earned along the way to be genuinely encouraging and calming. As someone with anxiety and depression, it was nice to play through a game that left me feeling so uplifted. I'd recommend playing Nebula Within after a long or stressful day to help you wind down, meditate, and center yourself.

Smooth, fast-paced action, unique challenges, and mesmerizing aesthetics. 10/10 really excellent game, super imaginative and fun to play!
This is a very pleasant twin-stick shooter, a sweet balance between casual themes and compelling challenge. The game's rules are quite simple to learn, but mastery demands learning and persistence, which keeps me coming back almost thirty hours in. The pacing is balanced well; new players may feel accomplished, yet not fatigued as they advance, and veterans may still feel challenged as they aim for 100% completion. The bugs are minimal, and whatever few there were during the pre-release phase have quickly been fixed by the active and clearly caring creator. Throughout the game, the player is presented with glimpses into the inner struggles of confusion, doubt, and the oh so familiar fiend of anxiety. The internal dialogue of the game's creator is laid bare for the player to witness, building an aethereal bridge; a bond of shared understanding. The visuals are beautifully elegant, representing exactly what they must to convey their deeper meaning without relying on excessively flashy particles and annoying noises that would serve only to distract the player. The gentle stimuli in the game should be kind to most people who suffer from various sensitivities that might be irritated by many other shooters. The creator has my sincerest thanks for that. What's more, even if one were to complete all the levels and unlock all the achievements, an endless play mode is always available to serve as a relaxing toy for winding down after a hard day. Play it with a podcast, an audiobook, or other audio entertainment in the background, or tune into the game's soundtrack for a total immersion. All in all, Nebula Within is an enjoyable experience. Veteran players of twin-stick shooters should have no trouble picking up the mechanics of the game, and new players should face a friendly learning curve that smiles and waves to them with warm welcome. Congratulations to the game's creator for a successful adventure that allows the rest of us to embark on a new journey, one level at a time.
Video review: https://youtu.be/EaHUUfXNfnk 8/10 Photo light sensitivity warning Welcome to Nebula Within a twin stick shooter about exploring your emotions and finding self-acceptance through mantras that will pop up in-between waves to make you think about your life and then return to panicking over how to avoid so many enemies. With an unproportionate number of levels that honestly just scare me of what's hiding deep in this game You will doge and destroy a magnitude of enemies from Little illuminati's, Red pill pushers, donkey Kongs platforms, illuminati's birthing pods, light sticks from Zues, Small green enemies with separation anxiety, this one I want to call sperm, my exes returning to kill me, some crack heads that can’t seem to know where they are going, and bullet bill on a string. Leading up to a boss fight that requires a lot of dogging and precision to kill them, or just erratic shooting like I did also seemed to help. You can also have 8 of your friends play with you. Which can have its positives and negatives. Positives being you have more eyes to watch your back and protect you to make it further in the game, and negative, you have now dragged your friends in to your emotional baggage and they will get to know you more then they probably ever wanted to. The game really reminds me of geometry wars and I'm dating myself on this one Asteroids, with its fast passed movement and reflexes, down to its simplistic yet oddly unique graphical designs. With music that is calming and relaxing which is great because if there was horror music in this game it would be classed as a horror game for the amount of stress you can have. But I’m having a blast playing this game, its truly polished and a great twin stick shooter, balancing difficulty and enjoyment, I don’t know if it’s the music but when I lost all my life's and had to restart the book over, I never felt upset or angry that I died or felt like it was the games' fault only my own. If you were a fan of geometry wars you might like this game and you may find peace on your reckless journey to find them all.
Great game. Classic arcade style asteroids with unique encounters and power-ups. Great visual style and game structure. Highly recommend!
I really like the art style. I like the design of the green wibbly enemy that joins other enemies. I like the design of the big red enemy that has big pushy-outy zones. The sperm with bullroarer tails are a bit creepy. The constant messages implying you have mental health issues are super creepy. It's like being bombarded with "we have always been at war with Afroeurasia" or "cigarette smoking promotes healthy scales and gills" messages.
