About
Play as Molly, a successful startup founder who helps people organize their lives by organizing their spaces.
In Neat!, you visit clients overwhelmed by chaos, clutter, and emotional weight. Your job is simple. Help them feel calm again. Organize, sort, and place objects with care. Get to know the people who live among them. Turn disorder into neat, comforting spaces, one object at a time.
Begin in a grandmother's garden, where Molly's tidying service takes its first steps. Help put a neighborhood library back together after a quiet chamber music evening somehow became a rock concert. Bring order to a VTuber's streaming room before her first live show.
Some spaces hold a little more mystery. A living room its owner swears is haunted. A room belonging to someone who has everything he needs, without ever stepping outside.
Others are part of everyday life. A single mom's kitchen. A Japanese konbini on the night shift. And one last space, the most personal of all, waiting for you to discover it.
Every client has a different reason for needing a hand. As you sort through their belongings, discover the personal stories told through the things they keep.
Organize 8 hand-crafted locations, each with its own client and story
Sort and place a wide variety of unique, interactive objects
Discover the lives behind the clutter through everyday belongings
Bring care and order to gardens, homes, workspaces, and more
Relax with a chill, carefully curated soundtrack

I wanted to enjoy this game, as I have several of its kind in the past. This is going to be a short review. It's a decent attempt in its genre. It's still buggy but it's also still new. Some bugs have already been fixed and no doubt playability will improve in the future. However, it has a lot of very obvious Harry Potter references in it, specifically the 'Wizard Books' and one of the game disc covers. If this doesn't bother you, then you might find the game fun. I bothers me and I found it exceedingly disappointing; this, combined with gameplay that's just 'okay,' means I don't need this in my life.

I love these style of games typically. The art style is very cute. The humor is funny. My issues are that the placement is VERY buggy and the game is really really short at the moment. For the discounted price I got, it was worth it. I wouldn't buy at full price if they don't add more chapters. The clunky placement sorta ruins the enjoyment for me as well. Items do not snap into place easily. Some items fit on a shelf that's more narrow than another but not the larger shelf. It doesn't quite make sense. I also felt like there were a TON of repeating items in each level. More variety in the items that actually fit the rooms/themes would be great.
I'm not sure what everyone is talking about with the game not having a snap feature or not being able to pick things up and put them down immediately. You can move anything anywhere whenever wherever. The ONLY negative is that the game is short. I beat it in about 3ish hours.
A very cute game but I was expecting it to be longer

Nice cozy game, feels a bit like a demo for my liking tho
Neat is a cozy organizing game similar to Unpacking. The Good The art is adorable and cozy and easily the most polished part of the game. Sorting, organizing, and decorating feels satisfying, and I especially liked that each level had little puzzles or challenges to figure out rather than simply being “put everything away and you’re done.” The library and konbini were probably my favorite levels because they felt substantial enough to really settle into. The Bad Stacking and snapping are much more finicky than they need to be. Books were particularly frustrating to place neatly on shelves, and organizing food in the konbini could be fiddly for the same reason. Even with the finder view, locating exactly which item the game wants you to interact with can be difficult, especially pre placed items. There also isn’t quite enough variety in the decorations. There are plenty of individual objects, but many are reused between levels, and I would have liked more items designed specifically for each setting. Several rooms also needed more surfaces to decorate. At times I found myself placing things simply because the game gave them to me rather than because they made sense for the room — the lava lamp in the library being my favorite example. My biggest issue, though, is the amount of content. I 100%ed the game in about 4 hours, including all 24 achievements. For a $10 game, I expected more. The library and konbini felt like a good length, but most of the others ended just as I was starting to get into them. At $5–6 I’d be much more comfortable recommending this as a short, cute experience. At $10, I don’t think there is currently enough here. A few suggestions • Strengthen the snapping effect so shelves and stacked objects are easier to place accurately. • Make upright book placement more reliable. • Allow stacked items to be rotated. • Don’t require players to move objects that begin the level already placed unless they are clearly in the wrong location. • Make controller/Steam Deck selection more visually obvious. I sometimes had trouble telling which menu element was currently selected; a brighter outline would help. One final thing: I enjoyed the little Harry Potter-inspired book references in the first level and was genuinely disappointed to see them replaced after complaints and negative reviews. I think people should be able to separate art from the artist, and I don’t like seeing harmless creative details removed because of pressure campaigns. That’s all I’ll say about that. Overall: I had a nice time with the game, the artwork is lovely, and the underlying concept is good. The problems were manageable, but right now I can’t recommend it at full price because there simply isn’t enough content for $10. If future updates add more levels and flesh things out, I’d be happy to revisit my review.
I can't recommend this game. The controller is janky and it is a struggle to place the items where you want it to. I quickly found myself frustrated and annoyed most of the time. Also, the game has a lot of HP-references, which was very disappointing to see.
