You're Illy Vraja, a teenager at a crossroads in her life who gets invited to Transylvania by her mysterious Great-Aunt, Domnica, only to find out she comes from a long line of witches, and is entitled to enroll in the Transylvanian Institute for Magick!
As a Near-Mage, you are entering a summer preparatory school, hoping to graduate into a full-fledged spell caster. You’ll take classes in different types of Magick and see how you can use your growing powers to affect the lives of those you come across.

We are from Transylvania, Romania ourselves, so we’re doing a deep dive into its rich lore, legends and superstitions, heavily drawing on them in creating Near-Mage’s dark and colorful world.
Travel freely between three main hubs: the real-life town of Sighișoara, the mythical town of Rakus, that lies beyond a Magickal veil and cannot be seen by most, and the Transylvanian Institute for Magick.
Near-Mage will allow for a lot of freedom when approaching the situations you’ll encounter within the Transylvanian Institute for Magick and its surroundings. When it comes to spell-crafting, you can choose what type of classes you’re taking on a whim, or you can look up recipes in a spellbook and strategize your build.

This build variety will in turn lead to different outcomes for some quest lines, affect certain NPCs’ fates, and result in high replayability. Maybe you’ve erased an NPC’s memory on your first play-through. What if you used a different spell on them this time around… or no spell at all?
You’ll be able to play Near-Mage as a point and click, or you can control the character directly. Walk to your objectives, run at full speed, or even fly there!

This game is genuinely amazing. The graphics are beautiful, and the world is packed with fantastic settings, thousands of niche details, hidden cameos, and hilarious NPCs to interact with. The story is really rich and full of fun twists, all tied together by a great soundtrack. If you've played Gibbous before, you're going to enjoy this even more!
Seeing K'teh return in her full power was a brilliant touch.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and highly recommend checking it out!
This is a nice spin on the classic Point and Click games. Nice story with elements of the other game by the same company (stuck in the attic). A few awkward points, sometimes you know what to do but you can't do it unless you speak to the right person. I do miss the classic picking up and mixing items. You still pick things up but you can't access inventory.
Amazing game!
A very relaxing (yet has its intense moments) point and click adventure game. While this game is a bit similar to their previous game, it is not the "standard" way of having items in ones inventory and solving puzzles, combining items together etc (though personally I like that way better but I enjoyed this game nonetheless). Here, it plays kinda like a role playing game with decisions, actions, and dialogue that effects certain outcomes in the story. Overall, and I mentioned this previous times in my other point and click adventure games reviews, the artstyle/artwork these games have to be "top-tier" for me as that's one of the biggest elements that shine in these types of games. I can happily say I love the artwork/artstyle of the game and always enjoy hand-drawn worlds and animations which this game has. All of it looks wonderful and amazing. I would say the only thing that saddened me a little bit is when the story, let's say without spoilers, "ramps up" it is coming to an end to quickly. But other than that, great story, great characters, great artwork/artstyle, and wonderful game. Also, this game is kinda a sequel (more so a "spin-off") from the previous game they made, but the way things go in this story I expect and hope for a true sequel to the previous game they made before this one. Last thing I'll mention is I personally would prefer more of the "classic/standard" way (as I mentioned early above) for these point and click adventures games, but again, good game nonetheless. I recommend playing it, it is an enjoyable experience.
I REALLY enjoyed Near Mage- it felt like getting whisked away to mage college while getting wrapped up in a bigger adventure to save the world! The visuals and voice acting are superb and really add great characterization to the areas you're in. I can tell it took a loooong time to illustrate and animate these scenes, but it was all worth it. The classic adventure style from Monkey Island and other Lucas Arts games is clear. Near Mage isn't perfect, with some pacing issues and how the magic itself is implemented. You are told early on to be judicious about using your new powers, but that makes sense to me since magic can be the 'easy' way out of your problems that can be solved with good communication and a bit of compassion. It felt like a very real way to think about what magic could be. I highly, highly recommend picking up this game if you enjoy a more relaxed, heartwarming adventure, or if you were a fan of Stuck In Attic's previous title, Gibbous. Loved them both, but I enjoyed this title slightly more than their first. I can't wait to see what comes next for Illy, Tudor, and the rest of the gang!
Top-Adventure der oberen Liga. Alles, was man erwartet, aber etwas Geduld ist am Anfang nötig :-) In jedem Fall empfehlenswert
Good, game, don't give up if you feel stack, it eaiser that you though just not so bovios some times
Game was fun, good story that kept me engaged. I would have liked to see a less linear story with more meaningful story paths and branches to choose from. Also the spell system was a bit of a let down, you are granted access to so many great spells but very, very limited chances to use them. I would have much more preferred the ability to use various spells on npcs and just random folks or out in the world anytime I liked with appropriate consequences. As it stands I didn't even use 15 percent of my spells in a full playthrough. The classes and spell crafting was very cool though.
