BECOME THE GOAT
Gameplay is fast, fluid and responsive. Powered by true rollback netcode, your moves on the sticks will sync instantaneously – cross up an aggressive defender, pull down a towering block, or throw up a lob out of a spin move for a game winning alley-oop.
DEFENSE WINS CHIPS
It’s not only about the high flying dunks, stepback logo 3s and ankle breakers – in NBA THE RUN, defense is just as fun, and powerful, as offense. Thunderous blocks, diving for loose balls, huge steals, and all-out physicality on D can lead to a W and will get you just as hyped.
STREETBALL WITH STYLE
Everything about NBA THE RUN is handcrafted and stylized to deliver a completely unique look and feel. Authentic to the sport of basketball and visually in a lane of its own - there isn’t another basketball game on the market that looks, feels or plays like NBA THE RUN.

I really wanted to like this game, but I can't recommend it in its current state. It feels more like an early access title than a finished release. The lack of an offline mode is already disappointing, but the gameplay has issues too. There are times when it's difficult to tell who has possession of the ball, making matches feel confusing and frustrating instead of fun. There's definitely potential here, and I hope the developers improve it over time. But as it stands today, this game isn't worth recommending. It simply isn't ready.
The game feels unfinished in its current state. For starters the game is only online play, which is definitely not ideal as I would prefer to just have a casual game I can play without having to queue online. The optional shoot around mode is fun for a few seconds, but not beyond that. I also dislike the queue menu/system in general. I cannot pick what kind of actual match I want to play. The game just picks a random game mode and you can select to play solo or with real players. I was looking for something NBA Street-esq, but was sorely disappointed.
I think the negative reviews are coming from people comparing this to NBA Street Vol. 2 or because it's currently online-only. Honestly... I get it. That's what I thought I was buying too. That said, NBA The Run is its own game, it's way more technical than Street Vol. 2 was and I believe it has its own vibe going on. The movement is exactly how they advertised it; straight butter. Once you get the control down and play kinda like a real-life 3V3, everything clicks. Crossovers, give-and-gos, and step-back 3s all feel incredibly satisfying. (hit em with a Taunt after a bucket to increase competitiveness lol) My biggest complaints are the collision system and (for now) no ranked matchmaking. Sometimes you'll run into your own teammate, get launched into the backboard going for a rebound, or wonder if your teammates are playing with their controller upside down. 😂 I was disappointed about the online-only launch, but seeing the devs announced ranked in August, a campaign mode in 2027, and more players gives me hope. They actually want this game to be as good as it could be. Bobbito as the MC? Straight nostalgia. The soundtrack? lovin it. (Also... why'd y'all nerf the block sound effect? Run that volume back up :) Until ranked drops, matchmaking is all over the place. One game I'm with newbie players, the next I'm playing a squad that's apparently been training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber since the playtest. 😂 Overall, this isn't NBA Street Vol. 2, and that's okay. Once I stopped expecting that, I started appreciating it for what it is. 9.5/10. Definitely recommend. @NBATHERUN... can I send you some beats? I've got a catalog of instrumentals & melodies just sitting on my hard drive waiting for their rookie contract. :)
Refunded after an hour and a half. Really wanted to like this game. It's just not at all what I hoped it would be. Only tournaments to play in. No customs. You can only control one character, no option to control your own full team. Thought this would be nba jam's successor. It feels more like a half-baked money grab attempting to leach off the nostalgia of those that loved the original. Maybe pick it up for like $5 if it's on sale, great demo for what a new nba street COULD be if they actually made the whole game lol.
Honestly, I don't think this game has much longevity. I loved The Street franchise and aware of it's repetitive nature, but my god the AI in those old games was smarter than the ones that we are forced to play with or against in online mode. The "Be a Legend" mode in Vol II justified the replayability and added so much content to the game. There isn't much substance in this game at all. This is really a game that is worth less than $15. When player numbers drop over time, I don't know how much fun I can have with an only online game.
this game is worse than the people on 2K with zens ... literally everybody is stephen curry, even giannis is pulling from the logo and half court SMFH ... DO NOT PURCHASE
This game is a blast. Don't expect wild mechanics yet, but as an arcade-like basketball game that scratches the NBA Street itch, it is so worth it!! One recommendation I'll throw out is adding a Quick Play option. Sometimes I just want to play one game and bounce out. The tourney style is really neat, though, and I would still play that the majority of the time. Looking forward to future updates and hope the game gets the fan-base it needs!
This game is addicting and makes you want to play more.
This game is no where like NBA Street Vol.2. I'm 100% is the dev made this similar to NBA street people would have love this game more. I truly miss the 'good ol days' of trash talking my friends in the best NBA game ever made.
I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS GAME ////HUGE LET DOWN .NO ROGUELIKE bt it at all
