I play NBA 2K almost entirely offline, mainly in MyNBA. I’m not really here for Park, Rec, MyTEAM, online metas, or VC grinding. I just want a good basketball game where I can run a franchise, build teams, play realistic games, and create my own league storylines. From that perspective, NBA 2K25 is a very good game, even if it still comes with the usual 2K problems. The on-court gameplay is the biggest strength. Players feel more physical, movement feels smoother, and basketball decisions actually matter. Good shooters feel dangerous, strong defenders can change possessions, and star players stand out in a believable way. That said, the game is not perfect. Even as an offline player, it is hard to ignore how much of NBA 2K is built around VC, online modes, and live-service systems. MyNBA is great, but it sometimes feels like offline players are not the main priority. There are also some familiar MyNBA issues. Trade logic can be weird, CPU team-building is not always realistic, sim stats can be odd, and progression sometimes needs slider adjustments. The mode is still excellent, but it could definitely use more polish and attention. Overall, I enjoyed NBA 2K25 a lot as an offline player. The gameplay is strong, MyNBA is deep, and there is a lot of fun to be had if you like franchise-style sports games. It is not a perfect game, and the usual 2K frustrations are still there, but the core basketball experience is good enough that I kept coming back. Recommended for offline/MyNBA players, especially on sale. If you mainly want a deep franchise mode and solid basketball gameplay, NBA 2K25 is worth playing.
