Another one of those Dungeon Siege 3 style ARPG's. Pretty much made for controllers. Which is not really a bad thing but the controls are not good. If you want to use KB & M then you have to move with WASD. Combat consist of pressing X for normal attack string and Y for heavy attack string. B to Dodge and A to do a finisher/ interact. Pressing left trigger + face buttons uses skills. The menus navigation is clunky. Everything just feels backwards. The story started out okay but then just turned into the dumbest fetch quest nonsense. Escort mission out of nowhere with an obscene amount of enemies to dispatch along the way. Didn't die while playing so no idea what happens if you do. Buggy items. Clothing disappears. Buggy animations. Weapons float out of hands when attacking. Missing sound effects. Buggy movement. Can't configure controls. Menu bugs. Controls do not respond correctly in menus. Might be worth checking out in the future if they fix all of this.
abandonware, don't bother
Well!! Were do I start.... (I do understand this is a early access game and I play a lot of early access games). 1: Only one class available to play atm! They stated 4 classes available (not true)! 2: Keyboard and mouse controls are trash! Controller is not much better! 3: Game locks up a lot! 4: Combat is week, slow and not fun! 5: Game is not worth $20 atm! 6: Graphics are week for 2020! 7: No voice acting when characters talk, this is 2020 and 90% of all games have this now! 8: Game has no online option so it should run better then it does! This game has a very long way to go before it can be called a game! I have requested a refund because I do not see this game getting any better at all! Good luck!
Don't buy this, just don't. If you want to try this go and play the demo, it's the exact same experience, you are not missing anything (It's literally the same, if you read the important notice, the developers explain it). This game was different, it even had a campaign (which was removed) and was in active development so it was fine to buy it and support the devs, but today it's abandoned and doesn't deserve any more money. The game itself isn't super bad considering it's early access, maybe a little clunky here and there. Probably the worst part are the controls and UI that are a little counterintuitive if you have played other ARPGs. The graphics are fine, the gameplay was fun for me for a while until it gets repetitive and I think the devs had some good ideas, nothing revolutionary, but with potential. It's sad they abandoned the development so none of that will be improved. Let's go to the content. You can only choose one character who can go up to level five with four skills unlocked from the moment you arrive in the town at the end of the tutorial. The town is your hub with and only has two NPCs to interact with, The merchant who always sells the same items, and the quest board. There is only one dungeon and you can choose one of the three difficulties to change the monsters level and the size of the dungeon. There are four missions and when you reach level five the boss mission is unlocked on the quest board. The missions have different goals, but they happen on the same dungeon with the same monsters as the rest of the game so it's all the same. I liked the boss fight to be honest. That's all, thats the game. If one day this game receives an update I will gladly play it again to update my review, but it will probably never happen.
ya
Not much on the web to get about this game so I paid the $20 to see for myself. I don't mind tossing support for Indie games, as it seems Indie is actually more mainstream now. It used to be that they were needles in the haystacks, but with so many small time game developers creating great content, I am more than willing to support that just to stick it developers like Bethesda and Bioware who have fallen from grace so far over their desire for money. This is however, not one of them. Only 1 character is able to be used upon writing this. The UI is HORRRRRRIBLE. I am playing on controller and the icons mapped to skills are not present. As in, the Tutorial says use B to Dash but the UI where B is, is completely empty. It is the same for potions which again, also empty. I found the potion usage by mashing buttons, then 5 minutes later got a tutorial pop for how to use and again, no icon to point this out! The amount of damage NPC's do versus your output along with the lack of potions make this game a crazy head scratcher. The graphics are not terrible and that is about the only thing this game has going. I understand it is Early Access but a usable UI should be priority #1. I think this game has some potential, especially considering, there is a mass horde salivating at the release of D4 and so tired of D3, we are literally trying anything and everything while that cooks over at Blizzard. Grim Dawn, POE (Even though it's so complex) and even perhaps Last Epoch (Controller issues) are better at this point. I know the argument will be made for this being a work in progress, I am simply measuring it's progress against many other games that had usable UI's and at least more than 1 class to use upon starting. I will try again after a couple of months and see how it goes.
I only said No to Recommend because the game just is not there yet. The environment is nice, character models are solid, combat is very smooth but it is not impactfull at all. it visually reminds me of Diablo 3 the maps feel very large but lack the enemies. this is a very early review there is also very little settings and you can not change the key bindings witch that may change in the future. is it worth the $20 now? maybe you can probably get 20hrs out of it. i do think this game has serious potential it just need alot of work still. you can check out my playthrough at AllHaven Games on youtube https://youtu.be/M4xQHI0B3gl
Schade
