SHHH, I'M NATURE ESCAPING
When searching for a new game to play, we usually choose a mid to hardcore game to challenge our minds and entertain us. But there's just something about a simple HOG that delights me and brings to mind a bit of nostalgia and plenty of Zen! Nature Escapes has been one of my favorite series because of the abundance of Flora and Fauna.
HIDDEN FLOWER PHOTO
Each Nature Escapes scene has a Hidden Photo that converts to Coins that allow you to purchase 20 Plants and Flowers in the My Garden Section. You can choose where to place the plants and even select multiples of the same plant. You can also click the Camera icon to take a picture of your arrangement and save it to the document folder. Personally, I would prefer to arrange the plants' freestyle versus placing them on preset snap points, such as grouping a set of plants together. I think the developer needs to change the flower selection from game to game and add more flower selections with bigger flowerpots to keep the concept interesting. It would be really cool if they added a feature to customize the flowerpots after selecting a specific flower to purchase. (When you buy a flower, a popup window will allow you to view the flower in three or four different types of flowerpots)
SHAPESHIFTING-MORPHING OBJECTS
Each scene also has three Morphing Objects (72 total) that are incredibly well-blended. Not only do they morph at a very slow pace, but they shapeshift into a similar object, making them quite challenging to spot!
There are two Morphing Objects in the Main scene and one Morphing Object in the Subscene
Each Morphing Object found converts to a flower you can plant in the wild within the Nature Album
NATURE ALBUM
There are 24 Wildflowers to plant in the Nature Album Each Morphing Object you find converts into 3 puzzle pieces, and each wildflower has 9 square puzzle pieces to place correctly before "planting" the flower.
MINI-GAMES & PUZZLES
After playing the main Hidden Object Scene, you will play two subgames. These range from a side-by-side Hidden Object Scene to Spot The Differences between scenes, Memory Match Games, Painting games, or various Rotate, Swap, Slide, Drag, or Rotate & Swap puzzles. Each puzzle has unique shapes, and many of the puzzles require swapping ( rotating pieces between two different pictures, side-by-side. I love that the Mini-games are nature-themed and that they are designed to be relaxing and enjoyable...except for those two games that required me to slide square puzzle pieces around using an empty square to unscramble the image...aaarrrggghhh Those are my only nemesis! After completing the Main levels, you will earn a Nature Badge that awards you 5 Paint By Pixel scenes. There are 24 Plant Fun Facts (one fun fact given after each Hidden Object Scene)
OBSERVATION
I have played the previous games in this series, and I felt that the scenes in this game were too overcrowded with "filler" objects. I think Tiny Little Lion games should consider removing any objects that aren't related to nature, such as neckties, telephones, stuffed animals, etc. and concentrate on the Nature of Nature Escapes. However, I absolutely love that they included all kinds of unique wildlife and rare plants...they tested my knowledge of many of these objects!
COLLECTOR'S EDITION EXTRAS
18 Main Scene Levels, +6 CE Bonus Levels, 12 CE Bonus Mini-games, 24 Wallpapers, 10 Dev Plants +5 CE Bonus Dev Plants, 20 Plants to purchase in My Garden, 13 Music Soundtracks, 3 Shapeshifting Morphs per scene (72 total) that converts to puzzle pieces to plant flowers in the Nature Album Section, 1 Hidden Flower Photo per scene (24 total) that convert to coins to purchase flowers in the My Garden Section, 20 Flowers & Plants to purchase & place (multiples of plants can be selected), 24 Flower Fun Facts, 5 Color By Pixel scenes in the Nature Badge section. This HOG is worth playing because of the beautiful scenery and a few of extra side-activities. When it comes to hidden object games, the gameplay is really standard. You need to locate items on two different scenes by going through the list. The difficulty is casual from the start because the game indicates when the object is found on the current scene by highlighting it in white, and there is no penalty for hasty clicking. However, you must still be quick in order to obtain the golden star. This isn't that difficult if you memorize the placement of the objects and hit them quickly to increase the multiplier. Although the scenes are filled with random objects, the unpredictability is thrown out the window because they will be located in the same location each time you play. You'll have no issue getting the golden star if you repeat it a few times. The game has 18 distinct locations that can be played in any order. Aside from the main HOG scene, each location also has two mini games in which you have to identify differences, solve puzzles, or do something similar. Bonuses and side-activities enhance the game. Most are very typical; you can listen to music, browse wallpapers, and read interesting information about flowers. However, two of them, albeit simple, are linked to scenes in the main game. Each scene has one picture and three morphing objects that are very easy to find. The picture gives you coins that can be used to buy flowers in the garden. The selection is decent, but it's really limited because you can't arrange the flowers the way you want. Morphing objects are used in the album. There you can find various images with missing pieces that you can purchase with morphing objects. When the image is finished, you can use it as a wallpaper.
