Nancy Drew®: Midnight in Salem

Gave this one a chance despite all the negative reviews purely for completionist reasons... sad to say y'all were right. I am not a fan of the new format and movement style. New Nancy's voice makes me angry. The graphics are good but the animations were somehow worse than the original ND games. I loved the setting of Salem but there was so much more that could have been done with this plot wise. The puzzles were blah. Just SOMETHING off and unenjoyable about this game that's hard to put your finger on, which I suppose reveals the change in team behind the scenes. Definitely did not feel satisfied at the end and feel no need to ever play it again. One redeeming factor is the "choose your own ending" addition which was kind of neat. Will still give Seven Keys a play but my hopes are not high.

its good piss easy for a nancy drew game tho and the story is just fine i actually love the aesthetics but the graphics arent the best but realistically who cares i 100% the achievements within 6 hours and 2 playthroughs but it could be easily done in less time get on sale

No puzzles and a spooky story. Count me in. Not nearly as bad as most say. I enjoyed MID.

Worst game ever! The puzzles were extremely difficult. Some of the characters were unlikable, especially the judge and the lawyer. Olivia Ravencroft, one of the suspects, was quite a character. The animation was a bit clunky, particularly the characters' movements. The settings were beautiful. Carving the pumpkins was the most enjoyable aspect of the game. It was very simple.

This was a 0/10 Nancy Drew game for me. This is the last one I had left to play of the 34 games and I tried so hard to love it. It felt like a painful slog to walk around. Like none of the fun little moments you get in other games. I dare say this is worse than the discontinued Ransom of the Seven Ships which I also rank 0/10. The puzzles are mid, the mystery is okay but ultimately not that ground breaking. The worst part by far is the navigation. Moving around in this game is a nightmare. I am very thankful for the direction that the team went for the Mystery of the Seven Keys as far as moving around in spaces.

I grew up playing these games, I love the story line and the puzzles are challenging. I would recommend any on the Nancy Drew games to anyone that loves a good mystery.

New way to maneuver feels clunky and hard to track where you have searched. Also this isn't like your typical puzzle solving Nancy Drew game. There are only a few puzzles total in the game and it's mostly just a click along story and a mediocre one at that, the characters are more hollow compared to other games. I wouldn't recommend this one if you were to buy alone even on sale however if you get it in a bundle of games like I did during a sale it's worth a play through. I don't know if I'll every replay this one unlike pretty much all the other ND games I have played.

The game play was extremely clunky compared to every other Nancy Drew game I have played (and I've played most of them). I felt like it was one of their first games instead of one of the most recent. The story was okay, but it had a forced feel instead of the more exploring that I've come to be use to. I absolutely hated the moving controls to walk around and explore, it made the whole game really unenjoyable. I really didn't want to believe the negative reviews, but after playing it, I definitely understand them. I like to replay ND games after a a couple of years when I don't remember them as well, but this won't be one I'll be returning to and am disappointed that I purchased it. Based on the negative reviews for 7 keys, I will probably be passing on that game. Which is sad, because I definitely love the other games in the collection and would purchase any new ones that had similar game play to any of the ND games before this one.

4⭐ / 5⭐ 身为 ND 的老粉丝，其实在2021年就购买了这个最新系列，但是全新的操控方式、镜头移动与声优的更改让我无法继续玩下去。就这样弃坑到2026年才重拾游戏。 老实说，故事情节上感觉有点保守，缺少了反转。玩完了却有点不过瘾。(｡ŏ_ŏ) 解密方法已经很不错了。有纳入了新的游戏方式，也沿用了一些以前的玩法；但是新的操作方式删除了以前会帮忙做笔记的的功能，对非英语为媒介语的玩家有点不友好，很容易遗漏各种信息。 镜头的运镜方式很让人头大💦(っ﹏-)💦 一直拼命按按按转换镜头，有时候还会按错，然后走错方向。 整体来说，其实有点复杂。说好玩吧，却感觉不太完整。说不好嘛，可是却还行。

К сожалению, это уже не продолжение старой и любимой серии игр. Разработчики сделали акцент на модернизации проекта, но попутно потеряли всю атмосферу. Да, графика стала лучше, другое управление, к которому долго но, все таки, привыкаешь. НО прохождение стало линейным, тут уже нет вариантов походить по всем локациям с вопросом "а что же дальше?", тут тебя взяли за ручку и повели, пропала вариативность. Головоломки - важнейшая часть игры - скатилась до нескольких банальнейших задачек, да еще и с примесью рандома.. Телефонные разговоры, которые тоже были неотъемлемой частью, скатились до "галочки" и стали вообще ненужными. Но безусловно приятно, что добавили достижения, если бы разработчик сделал их для всех прошлых частей - не задумываясь бы приобрела весь набор и кайфовала от старых игр. По итогу, это Нэнси 2.0. - новый виток, надеюсь разработчики и сами понимают, где просели и дальнейшие игры будут выправлять положение в сторону старого доброго детектива с отличными головоломками.
