Nancy Drew® Dossier: Resorting to Danger!

I played this as a young kid. It was more challenging as I believe the Dossier series was meant for a younger audience with the more whimsical art style. I wish this series wasn't cancelled and that it continued as I really like the art and the voice acting is pretty good. The puzzles easier difficulty makes a very chill game to play and go through quickly. The puzzle at the bunker still gets me a bit but no biggie. My favorite mini game is the face mask one. I will open the game just to play that in the arcade.

he 'Dossier' entries focus heavily on Hidden Object Game mechanics compared to the mainline entries in the franchise. Many view them as weaker games due to this. Despite this, the story is okay here and the puzzles aren't too bad.

Although not as engaging or challenging as the first Nancy Drew dossier, Resorting to Danger holds great nostalgia and a fun twist on traditional HOG puzzle games. For 1, you're Nancy MFin Drew, and for 2, this has a whirlwind storyline with multiple endings. (self note: for years I thought the ending was singlular, as I assumed I made the correct decision 1st play-through and continued to make that choice on following play-throughs) Goofy yet endearing, I truly am disappointed HER never continued the Dossier series. Side note: i think the mini games in this one are addicting, but IMO game 1 had repetitive mini game styles

Pretty much similar to previous Dossier title: good for younger audience, relatively easy, and colorful. The drawbacks are similar as well: based on the score and chapters can't be replayed. Mini games in Arcade become boring quite quickly and some of the scores are very hard to beat.

Good game series, but this one had all kinds of things that I didn't love. About halfway through there was a beeping noise that didn't stop for the rest of the game, including during minigames, so that was a sound glitch. The mini-games were OK at best, and while I was advised at the end of the game by one of the characters to do Arcade Mode, winning Arcade mode really did not give an achievement or anything. Furthermore, maximizing points in-game did not give the true ending as it did in the last game, and I felt like it took away from the motivation to maximize points. You also cannot go back to a scene either, you have to start the entire game over again if you miss it the first time. Speed diffuser is frankly impossible unless you are an intense speed gamer or you stop the clock in a way that feels like cheating. The whodonit side of everything was also a little easy in my opinion as well. I'm not saying skip this one, but out of all the games I've played up to now I would say this is among my least favorite. 3/10.

Nostalgic and challenging. I love the mini-games and how EVERY ND game is connected some way some how :)
