NAMCO MUSEUM ARCHIVES Vol 1

Honestly I should have looked a little closer when I purchased this as I was hoping to find the original arcade versions of these games, especially Dragon Spirit. However they appear to be the less fleshed out versions that were found on the old NES console. That said, if you want to relive some old nostalgic times with NAMCO titles on the NES then look no further. The gameplay is still pretty solid and there are a lot of good classic titles to choose from.

It's OK. It's kind of an odd release, honestly. I mean, in 2010, Namco released the "Namco Museum Megamix" for Wii, which had 18 arcade games as well as 5 remade titles. It was really cool. But, instead of porting that to PC, they decided to make a whole new release, with 10 generally-poorer NES remakes of the arcade releases. It's weird. Get this if you want to try the bonus Pac-Man Championship Edition "demake", or if you have nostalgia for the NES releases. Otherwise, you might have a better time with the "Pac-Man Museum+" release, which primarily consists of actual arcade ports of several of the Pac-Man games. Edit: changed "this" to "that"

This is good purely because it has the NES demake of Pac-Man Championship Edition. If you want, you can put it on a flash cart, like the EverDrive, and play it on real NES hardware. It also supports expansion audio which sounds great. Honestly, it's my favorite version of Pac-Man Championship Edition. Other than that, this collection is [u]not[/u] good. It's not even the arcade versions of these games, it's the inferior NES versions. Why they felt the need to nerf the collection like that, God knows. Tldr; Stay away from this if you care about anything other than the NES Pac-Man Championship Demake.

The games in this series are very good; however, I wish Bandai Namco would have given us the arcade versions of these iconic games instead of the Famicom version. Nonetheless, I think they're still worth playing.

Namco Museum Archives Volume 1 is a pretty solid retro collection if you’re into old-school arcade vibes and tough-as-nails gameplay. The lineup has classics that still hold up, and the rewind feature helps make some of the harder games less frustrating. The bonus demake of Pac-Man Championship Edition is honestly one of the coolest parts of the package. Not every title aged perfectly, but it’s still a fun nostalgia trip for retro fans.

Works well on the Steam Deck, although there is no way to close to program from within the in-game menus. "Namco Museum" is a name they have slapped on a LOT of projects, and for a very long time. Which is unfortunate, because it can cause a lot of confusion at a glance. This really should have been called the "Namco Famicom Collection," as this is in no way a museum (you don't even get box or manual scans, never mind any supporting material related to any of the games; even the "instructions" provided are THIN), and the contents are exclusively a look at the Famicom/NES output by Namco. The emulation of these games is fine, with included rewind and save state support. And if you're achievement hunting, you're going to need them, because most of these achievements are ROUGH. Of particular note, Sky Kid can get extremely unfair and requires a LOT of levels to pop, and Dragon Buster can be extremely tedious. Also of note: Dragon Spirit is the translated US release, but no effort was made to translate Splatterhouse's ending. (None of the other games feature any text that would need translating that I could see.) Overall, this is a fun blast from the past, but unless you have a nostalgic connection to this era you probably won't find much value here. The games themselves are all fine, but all of the stuff most worth playing (Pac-Man, Mappy) can be found better (as in, the original arcade) elsewhere.

Pac Man CE NES alone is worth the price of admission

Namco Museum Archive Vol 1 es realmente un compilado bastante sólido... Siempre he apreciado de parte de Bandai Namco de traer sus clásicos títulos a la mayor cantidad de sistemas, desde consolas como PS1 con Namco Museum y sus 5 expansiones (6 contando la última de Japón), con Namco 50th Anniversary para consolas y portátiles de 6 Gen... O también saliendo una distinta compilación para PS3 y Xbox 360 y así como DS y PSP La compilación son de juegos de NES e incluye muchos juegos, con un catálogo bastante variado, con juegos exclusivos de Japón o las versiones de Pac Man o Dig Dug de NES, Galaxian, Xevius o el más interesante Pac Man Champions ship edition que es una versión del juego para NES y que es bastante increíble... El emulador está bastante bien optimizado e incluye varias cosas que encontrarías en esto como Save States, rebobinar, logros o hasta Cromos a excepción que no puedes cambiar las teclas del teclado pero igual manera es aceptable el como está por defecto... Sin embargo, siento que podría haber sido mejor... Al ser juegos de NES se omiten algunos juegos como Rally X o la versión arrangement de Dig Dug o también termina faltando algo como un apartado de historia o información que habíamos visto en el Namco museum de PS1 o que ya hay en otros compilados, sin mencionar el precio que al final si es algo elevado... Pero aún así, es un compilado bastante completo y que recomiendo probar ya sea quieras conocer estos juegos o ya te gusten

VOL1と2を両方購入しました。 アーケード版の忠実な移植ではありませんが 8ビットPC時代からゼビウスやギャラクシアンはCS機やPCの移植作品を何本も買って楽しんできましたので 自分はアーケード版にそこまで思い入れもなく、今作も十分楽しめました。 正直、ギャラクシアンやパックマン等のアーケード版は、昭和の小学生の頃の遠い記憶にしかありませんし… 大作ゲームの合間、作業の休憩時間に遊ぶにはこのくらいの作品が本当にちょうど良いです。
