About
What if every legend you've ever read was merely the prologue to your own story?
Myth Requiem is a mythology exploration RPG with idle and auto-battle mechanics, where you command a growing company of legendary heroes on a quest for vengeance and redemption. Travel through living mythologies, battle ancient beasts, and relive epic tales from across cultures and eras. Explore the mythologies of ancient Greek, Norse, Chinese, and Egyptian civilizations, each with its own distinctive art, creatures, and cities. Go even further into Japanese, African, Mayan, Arabian, Aztec, Celtic, Hindu, Incan, Native American, and other mythologies: each offering unique challenges, enemies, and questlines.
Capture, battle, and catalog hundreds of mythological creatures, each with its own lore, descriptions, and deep ties to its culture of origin.
Fight alongside a growing roster of legendary heroes, including:
Sun Wukong, the Monkey King
Hero of Alexandria, the father of automation
Saint George, dragon-slayer on a personal crusade
Nut, the Egyptian goddess of the sky, shattered across the stars
Ulysses, the wandering hero
Each companion features a unique progression system tied to their myth and personal arc. (For example: Saint George grows stronger as he slays dragons; Nut’s story involves stargazing and solving cosmic puzzles.) Discover over 15 more heroes who will join your journey.
Deploy your party and let them fight while you manage abilities, synergies, and divine blessings. From fast-paced skirmishes to massive battles involving thousands of units, Myth Requiem combines idle mechanics with rich tactical customization.
Collect enchanted artifacts, relics, and ancestral music inspired by real-world mythologies. Every item has a backstory and contributes to your party’s strength and your understanding of the world’s mythic heritage.
Embark on an epic saga where your choices shape your destiny. Your companions evolve, mythologies respond to your actions, and you’ll relive legendary tales with a fresh, immersive twist, all while staying true to the original myths.
Ulysses' journey to Ithaca is over, but his war has just begun. Upon finding his kingdom in ashes, a name echoes through the rubble: Hellequin and his Wild Hunt. Vengeance is the only path forward, but to confront a living myth, Ulysses must attain a power beyond mortal reach; the one sealed within Pandora’s Box.
To unlock it, he must earn the favor of the four great pantheons. From the wisdom of the Chinese and majesty of the Egyptians, to the fury of the Norse and the glory of the Greeks; only with their blessings can he unleash hope… or doom.
With your legendary crew at your side, you will sail aboard the Skíðblaðnir: the mythical ship that traverses land, sea, and sky; uncovering lost cities, battling monstrous foes, and rewriting the fate of gods themselves.

this is a thumbs up for the reason of it looking like it could be lots of fun, also offering your work for free... But as long as I find no way to adjust text size I sadly will not be able to play further without sticking my nose to the screen , not the best eyes anymore.
Please introduce yourselves in game credit, accessible from the main menu : you deserves so much more recognition, all that done by two people !
Very niche. Very unique.
GAMES I PLAY NORMALLY FROM SIMILAR GENRES My preferred idle/incremental games are Orb of Creation, Magic Research 2, Realm Grinder, Unnamed Space Idle, Farmer Against Potatoes, (the) gnorp Apologue, and Dwarves Eat Mountain. My preferred auto-battler games are Teamfight Tactics, Tales and Tactics, The Last Flame, Backpack Battles, Toy Smash Kaboom!, and The Bazaar. My preferred collectathon/creature collector games are Terraria, Stardew Valley, Palworld, Monster Sanctuary, A Hat in Time, and Elin. INTRO In Myth Requiem you get to experience an idle, creature-collector, auto-battler, that is focused around one man's hyper-fixation on mythology. I don't know how accurate the information is later in the game, but the bits and pieces I fact-checked were all spot on. So, I think you can bet on all the cool factoids you get to learn. The story is serviceable. It's a standard "cosmic power threatens the fabric of reality, and you've been called upon by the gods to stop it." The game has a pretty distinct and interesting art style, and the UI/UX is good for the most part. GAMEPLAY I'll be honest... I think the majority of people would stop playing before they clocked in an hour. The two hours are rough. It's mainly an engagement and pacing issue. You start out the game going "1 mph," and when the game starts to pick up the pace, you're then going "2 mph." It's very, very, very slow. And not in a way that adds to the gameplay. It's just slow. There are a varied amount of mechanics. There is resource collection, creature capturing, and light team-building. Ultimately, the beginning of the game is focused around having your party members learn hieroglyphs, capturing creatures, and upgrading creatures you've captured. You do end up getting a selection of different quests/objectives to pursue, and there is certainly a lot of systems that the game has to interact with. Are they all compelling though? I really don't think so. DOWNSIDES

Really difficult to stay engaged if you're an active player.
The mining feature is so egregiously slow that I busted out my auto-clicker. I generally refuse to use anything that cheapens the experience of games. I don't even like using wikis, youtube videos, or guides. However... the mining feature is so unbearably dull that I would rather mine rocks in real life. Like... that would be exponentially more engaging.
You end up rebuilding the Library of Alexandria, and there is an impressive collection of lore and hieroglyphics to check out. I don't know how to verify the accuracy of the information surrounding the glyphs in the game. However, I also don't really think it matters. They're neat to look at, but after browsing through them once or twice, I don't think I'd ever open up the glyphs again. And that feels kind of sad because I can't imagine how much time it took to aggregate, organize, and implement all of them. It's neat, but because I don't know how to measure the validity of it's academic usefulness, and it has no gameplay affect, it's inclusion feels like it's only for completeness of the subject matter.
(I understand that the companions get more attack the more they research glyphs. It's browsing the thousands of glyphs that I'm saying seems "pointless" beyond just looking at them and imagining life back then.)

The myriad of creatures/entities/deities to collect, and their associated lore snippets, is really cool. Sadly, collecting these only lowers the power/difficulty of subsequent creatures you battle. I feel like it is a wildly missed opportunity to have a system that would let the player assign collected creatures to their party composition, and they would grant various effects or abilities during battles. As it stands, collecting creatures is just for "number go up."
The vast amount of stats and properties across the creatures you collect, and companions you have, seem... purposeless? Like... there are a lot of details to these creature and character sheets, but the game does not explain their use, purpose, or why the player would want to know that information.
STANDOUT FEATURES

A game about mythology!
The art and animations are pretty cool.
Modular UI is super cool and fluid.
Scope/depth of content seems MASSIVE.
Information feels right/accurate.
(YMMV)

Overall mechanics/systems, and the interconnectivity, is robust enough to engage plenty of people, for sure.
No BS, no MTX, no AI
OVERALL I think a select few will absolutely adore this game, and it will certainly become their obsession. And hey, it's free now, so you're free to find out if you're one of those few! In the grand scheme of things, it's honestly a tough recommend. Disregarding the art, depth of content, and vast information/lore/stories, the actual gameplay is... lackluster. I've put thousands of hours into idle/clicker/incremental games. I'm not the voice for everyone who's into these genres, but I believe the majority of people will not feel compelled enough to play this for longer than 1-3 hours. If you're an active player (for idle/clicker/incremental games) you will be struggling for a while. I'm going to recommend, because there are a lot of great ideas here, and there is some "secret sauce" to the game, for sure. You can also really feel the passion project vibes. The game just has a very hard time measuring up to adjacent titles.
Great concept and story, but can NOT recommend in current state. It is a laggy and buggy mess right now, with what seems to be a pretty large memory leak, forcing a restart at least once an hour.
The game is not very long at present, but I had a lot of fun with it. I think the concept and the way mechanics meld together is mostly great. I also had the thought that maybe in collaboration with teachers or academics, this game concept could even be hammered into something amazing for deeper educational aims.
Keep an eye on it - its buggy and has a memory leak and unintuitive. but it seems like a pretty interesting idle game overall imo, launch bugs aside!
Looking forward to the China content update!
we need chinse!!!
惆怅无因见范蠡,参差烟树五湖东。 -- 题宣州开元寺水阁 杜牧♥
