It's games like this that make me wish Steam had a third option: “MEH” My 8-year-old is absolutely hooked. We’ve been grinding this together in co-op and will probably 100% it, which says a lot. If you’re a kid, or have one, this game is basically digital crack. It is a good way to spend some time with the kiddo. This is a mobile game. It's the kind of game your "gamer" grandma plays. From what I read the mobile version has some variations in content, like a Home World with farming, daily quests, and a HQ area… I do appreciate their effort to bring a better experience to PC. We have fishing, free DLC, and a surprisingly interesting leveling system. From what I’ve read, the grind has also been toned down compared to mobile, with more streamlined planets and lower resource costs. The best thing we get no microtransactions either, which is rare enough these days to deserve a purchase. I really wish more mobile developers would take notes for this port. The gameplay loops is extremely simple, walk to the next thing and farm it. You run around vacuuming resources like a Roomba with a pickaxe, unlocking tiles one square at a time. Combat is just “exist near enemy until it dies.” There is a manual mode, but I assume that’s just there for people who hate their thumbs or want to stress test their A button. I know games like this are weirdly satisfying to some. Numbers go up, and you feed your brain monkey another 'nanner. To me it's just the undeniable reality This is the whole game. Forever. It's just grinding, no fun crafting, not super cool mechanics, you grind to the next square, go into a dungeon and grind to the next square. You walk up to an enemy and you wait till it dies. You might have to backup to dodge an attack occasionally. Pros: - Surprisingly decent amount of content - No microtransactions (actual miracle) - Local co-op = great for kids or couch play - Kids will eat this up - Chill, low-effort gameplay when you just want to turn your brain off - Clean low-poly visuals, looks nice and are interesting - Dungeons are cute and occasionally clever - Leveling/death system is actually really interesting - Free DLC is a nice bonus - Planets look different enough to feel fresh… at first Cons: - Fishing RNG is cursed (sharks bite within 10 mintues or "it's been 84 years") - GRIND - Combat has the depth of a puddle - GRIND - Game is extremely easy - GRIND - Some planets overstay their welcome more than my my crazy neighbor Robert - GRIND - No real crafting/building, just resource treadmill simulator - Planets start blending together after a while, they look different but it's the exact same thing - Did I mention GRIND At the end of the day, this game is basically idle gameplay disguised as active gameplay. It’s relaxing in small doses, and I totally get why people (especially kids) love it but after a while it starts to feel like you’re working a second job where your boss is a rock. Not a bad game. Just not really my thing. The reason I am giving this game a recommend is I realize there are people out here that would love this. My son loves this. I like getting to spend the time with him. It's a win-win. The dev team took the time to take the worst parts of the mobile game out of the mobile game before releasing it to PC. The game is playable and I haven't encountered any bothersome bugs. For what it is, it's very well crafted and I appreciate they seemed to respect PC gamers.

Oh god, this has been the best game I've purchased in a while! It's like gather&loot and build kind of game, you collect resources, use them to build land to explore the planet further, as well as using resources to upgrade your gear, weapon and tools further! Little did I know, I 100%'d the first planet in a bit over an hour I believe, and thought "man, that was it?" But turns out there are more planets to explore, each one offering larger selection of different resources, tougher enemies and so on. Some tiles reveal new materials to chop or mine to get resources, while some new tiles spawn enemies, which will drop you some gold after being slayed. It's pretty repetative, as far as I know, after completing a planet and moving onto a new one, you pretty much start over again, and do the same process over and over again, each new planet offering you new tiers for your gear, tools and weapon. The artwork is minimal and cute, so you don't need superb computer to run it. Even being as repetative as it is, it's still super fun to play for little sessions, for like hour at once for me. While it's currently whopping -75% off, don't hesitate, just buy it!
For me this game just feels like a mindless repetitive grind. You are basically harvesting ressources most of the time to unlock the next tile (and the next levels of your tools). It doesn't really take long time to unlock individual things, but it kind of end up feeling meaningless since numbers just grows bigger both for you and the enemies.
It's a boring mobile trash. It could be sold for $1-2, but not $15.
While the level designs are fun, the tedious pacing and one note gameplay loop ruins the experience. Smash item to get resource to unlock ground to find item to smash to get resource to unlock ground... Which isn't a bad loop until the resources needed grows to a point where it's several minutes of smashing the same items to unlock one panel just to need another 4,000 items to unlock the next panel. The combat is bare bones and most enemies can be killed in one hit of the sword ability depending on what skills you choose when leveling up (and most bosses take 2-3 hits of the same ability).
I like wasting time playing this game. It's kinda a relaxing repetitive grind and easy on the eyeholes.

DNF. Started out enjoyable, but the leveling system is obnoxious and the overall gameplay gets tedious with giant arbitrary numbers required for building tiles that have nothing to do with anything. There's no permanent character strength or health or anything. Instead, the level max is 10, and each time you level you get a choice of a randomly generated card with abilities on it. And when you die, you lose a level and (the oldest?) card. It's very easy to die. And it's very easy to only get junk cards when leveling. You have the ability to discard cards to mill through levels trying to get a good card, but then one death and you lose one that you probably liked and had been holding onto. Slipping off the world results in death, but there are some collectables that can't be found without a bit of exploration down paths that look like death, but there are plenty of paths that looks like maybe they could be explored that are just death. Lose a card each time. Also, there are a number of areas with spider spawns. Lack of creepy crawly sound made it slightly less unpleasant? But still spiders.
I finally 100% this game. Its very addicting and rewarding and run when you complete the areas. First game i 100%ed and im glad it was this
