My Klutzy Cupid

Ponkowa aka My Cupid is so Klutzy it's Scary is a visual novel from the same developer as Kamiyaba, another VN I read some time ago. I liked Kamiyaba, so I had to buy this one. Honestly, both VNs are pretty similar, they share an almost identical setting and story, but nevertheless, I think this game is a step above its predecessor. Just like with Kamiyaba, the story itself will not carry the game, the focus of these kind of games it's obvious the characters and the interactions between them after all, and it's in this particular aspect where Ponkowa outperforms Kamiyaba - the character writing and dialogue is honestly better, and it's also much funnier. The art and UI improved a lot too. Really happy with my purchase.

Klutzy Cupid is a perfectly fine moege. The plot is just fine, but I feel like it is written to where you don't even get much emotional investment into the characters, likely due to how fast it is. Music is pretty standard with decent OP/ED songs (only one of each). Systems are straightforward and what you'd expect. Really, to me this VN feels like a budget version of another Hulotte title - Kamiyaba. I'd still recommend Klutzy Cupid if you need something to scratch the moege itch and you're running short of other titles, but there are better moege out there, even from the same developer with a somewhat similar premise.

It's not worth $30, but it has some really sweet moments. Despite all of the attention given to her, the main romance SUCKS. Had so much potential but it just gets washed away in the ocean of h scenes the story would be better without. Faux incest too and like 90% of the routes are just slipshod excuses to get to the next H scene. Uta's ending and the teacher's route especially though are solid, I teared up at both. Masora deserved a route, genuinely a more compelling romance than any of the others. If you're looking for lighthearted fun, then this does deliver, and has a few emotional moments that prevent it from being a total waste of time. Uta's Theme is really good, and the TL is good save a few typos. But overall not really something I recommend.
