«My Jigsaw Adventures - A Lost Story»
Great sequel with another 20 jigsaw puzzles, tons of options and a little story tying it all together. It is possible to play the levels from baby-easy to superhuman-hard, just as you prefer. Loved to play to unwind and forget about the rest of the world for a few hours.
Really good game with great arts and nice soundtrack. I'm really enjoying it with a cup of coffee :)
My Jigsaw Adventures – A Lost Story is the second point and click jigsaw game in this series
A Lost Story is a family friendly jigsaw game that takes place in a world/dimension that you enter in order to discover the reason for a series of nightmares you’ve been having. This is a beautiful game! This game is very polished with fabulous hand drawn art; the scenery and puzzles are gorgeous. Music was quite good too, fitting of the scene it was in. With each puzzle you play more of the story is unlocked. The locations are interesting and different. Each jigsaw is tailored to the part of the story you are in. Not every game needs to be “bang you head difficult” to be enjoyable, but, You can make this as easy or difficult as you like: Timed or un-timed challenges, you can vary the background, the number of pieces you play with (28-1000), even the shape of the pieces! If you really want a challenge go into mosaic mode! This game has great options, including: Puzzle shape can be traditional, mosaic, or arrow Timed or un-timed Windowed/Fullscreen Music: on/off 28, 112, 220. 500, 1000 pieces! Zooming! You can zoom with the mouse wheel, very handy in the bigger puzzle modes. 35 puzzles (20 story + 15 unique special) 36 with the hidden puzzle The game auto-saves, you can exit mid-puzzle and when you restart your pieces will be as you left them. This review is based on playing a mix of the puzzles and challenges. I have about three hours into it, I am just a bit more than half, and have selected mostly 28-piece puzzles. If you are looking for a game that gives you a great return on hours played per dollar, this is it! Yesterday my daughter and I wanted to play something. We chose this even though I had already started the game. I found I was able to go back and read the story without having to replay the puzzle; that is a nice touch! We had a lot of fun taking turns and challenging each other.
While this game is a competent jigsaw game, its main problems lie with the art. It's nice to look at when complete, but it's too washed out to be engaging while you're actually putting the piece together. Most puzzles will consist of "coloured blotches" ranging in a few colour palettes slowly changing hues and about one or two parts that can be considered distinct. If only the game had strong, vibrant art with a good amount of detail, it would be a great game, but as it stands, it's merely passable if you go for low piece count and downright impossible if you go for the max pieces. Developers, please release this with some REALLY strong art and I'll gladly buy this game again!
Compared to the previous one, we have access to bigger jigsaw (up to 1000 pieces) which is both great and complicated to manage on the computer, but I really like the fact they added the option. I had an issue withthe first game as the pieces seemed to have a strong magnet pulling them together and onto their natural place to the point that using the random option would get the pieces together. Correction has been made but now it feels like trying to find the perfect pixel to match two pieces together or place them at the right place. An in between and option for weak - middle - strong magnet could be offered to allow people to play the way they love the most. I really like the specials with the new ways to play, I would love to see those rules implemented as options for all the puzzles. All in all great progress between the two opus and the arts are as beautiful as the first one.
Full disclosure: I have been given this game for free by the developer for the purpose of testing the Linux build. It is an decent jigsaw game - 20 puzzles in the story you can do in 3 different shapes and 5 different sizes (28, 112, 220, 500, 1000). On top of that there is 15 special ones that tend to be a bit different for the normal possibilities.
The dev has gone to a lot of trouble to try and create something different from most jigsaw puzzles. Here in the second offering of the journey puzzles, the dev has added twisted puzzles which I believe everyone will enjoy. The artwork is darker but still very nice. There is a special hidden puzzle that is interesting and challenging. My only complaint would be that the dev uses the puzzle as the background and it can confuse they eye when trying to place puzzle pieces if one needs to put in dark pieces and the grid is over a dark area . Thankfully an icon to move your grid around to find a spot that suits is found at the top right of the screen. I highly recommend this puzzle.
