The, storyline is very, interesting the characters, and artwork is amazing, as well as the dialogue I enjoyed every second playing the game, and I definitely recommend it 10/10 in my book loved it very much it was a fun game to play.

A fever dream that eludes my understanding and confusion. I see it when I close my eyes.

It was a great game, short game but it had a positive message, and some references.

Where Dab on Darkness! was optimistic and pure in form, this game complicates that narrative. It still goes over all the major themes-- the usage of accessible CBT techniques to better manage unhealthy mind bugaboos. But it also expands on everything, with a protagonist who has experienced specific misfortune within a specific life. There is a wider world with purposeful and indeed purposeless things inside of it. Incidentally, this game can't recapture the original's raw positivity, though it still wears an optimistic outlook on its sleeve. What it does give is far more specific advice to those who might benefit it. The mechanics of the game are largely prefunctory, insofar as they exist to finesse exactly one point (a good point, bear in mind). This is a visual novel which uses an rpg engine for some expanded and arguably cinematic storytelling. When you make a game for a certain kind of person, you alienate others. Back when I first played Dab on Darkness!, High School was a fresh memory and lockdown gave me all too much time to sulk and wallow in certain kinds of bad memories. In 2024, when I play this now, the memories have become so distant-- and myself such a master in Being An Adult and recognizing that embarrassment is a temporary phenomenon, for instance-- that it also cannot recapture that formative aspect the original did. Like the author, I suppose I hope this reaches someone at the right time for them. One more thing. The horror elements were effective but brief. I don't think this game would have benefited from lingering longer on what it uses or the darker themes it invokes, so in this way I believe it is well balanced.
