About
Twenty years later, she discovers he lied... but why?

In "My Father Lied," you embark on a mysterious journey through an abandoned Mesopotamian museum. The previous inhabitants left behind intricate puzzles to help them remember their secrets and the objects they kept. What caused their memories to fade? What made them descend into madness? And are you really alone in this forgotten place?
My Father Lied features the first Iraqi female-led character in a video game. In her honor, we gave her the name of the oldest known writer in human history; a woman who was also from the same region: Enheduanna.
Nicknamed Huda, she is an archaeologist like her father. Now, she is forced to dig into her past and the history of this place to discover what happened to him and why he was taken from them by force. To uncover the truth, she must solve puzzles left behind by those who ran this place and survive the same madness that consumed them.

The game features hand-drawn cutscene art that explores Huda's past and its connection to her present. The puzzles will test your reasoning, challenging you to uncover the museum's secrets—from ancient and recent political intrigues to the stories of its former inhabitants, and ultimately, the truth of what lies beneath.
And remember... secrets aren't found, they're earned.

Find out what secrets your father hid from you

This has an interesting story that is well developped by the end. Most of the puzzles are interesting. There are some major flaws : - The navigation system is sub-optimal. In 2025, it is possible to have better that point-and-click on icons. A changing cursor would've been better. - The beginning and the museum parts look like a late '90s game. I'm not sure that that is intended. - The museum has a weird lighting that makes it hard to achieve one of the puzzles.
When taking notes for the second sets of polymers, it is hard, even for a non-colourblind person like me, to distinguish between green and blue.
Judging be the discussions on the community tab, I wasn't the only one having problems for that one. - The museum being dark makes the
gods to numbers puzzle
way too hard for no reason. This particular puzzle would benefit a complete rework. - There are some bugs that can be really annoying. Some of the magnifiying glass icons won't appear or will disappear after one click.
The worst case is on the star walkway. I had to reload the game to make the icon for the unlock fence appear. In a playthrought I watched, the icon appeared on the opposite side of the walkway and the player found it by chance.
- There are a lot of typos in the subtitles. Sometimes the subtitles overlap each other if you click too fast on two different objects. - There are no manual saves possible, which makes it impossible to navigate back the mighty puzzles if you skipped them by mistake. This game has a great potential but has a lot of flaws. With some work it could become great. But for now, I can't recommand it. It will frustrate any player that is not used to puzzle games.

I played the demo for about 8/9 months ago and immediately interested in finding out more about the storyline behind it. I love to play a game that tell a story also a puzzle game, and now the game is out. Sometimes I got stuck / freeze in loading screen / saving time (but its okay not a big problem). It took some times for me to clear the puzzle because I am a bit slower, but it was fun to clear each problem. Sometimes I overthink the simple puzzle, going around looking for the answer even though the answer is right in front of your eyes. It would be better if there is a save or check point in the game so we can save in the middle of the puzzle. More hints / direct hint would be better to. I think we need flashlight in the game so we can be more immerse to the game. Overall it was a good experience to play the game, very recommended ^_^
This game is really cool! I love a good challenging puzzles and the lore of this game is really captivating. This is definitely not for casual puzzle enjoyers, but for those who are looking for a little bit of a challenge and some pretty interesting lore, I can't recommend this game enough! Also, if you do get stuck, the dev is really responsive and helpful :)

This is my honest review so far, i really like the game. The Story, Voice Over, Illustrations, and layout is really good. Especially the opening. I felt invested immediately and was ready to go on a journey with the main character. I also love the visual presentation of the game. It's got that nostalgic look to it for a mystery puzzle game. The puzzles will probably get more challenging as I dive further into the story but that's how it goes. So yes, give this game a try. It has my attention.
I didn't play very long because it wasn't really my type of game. I guess it suits you who are interested in Mesopotamian history. It's really not a bad game, just not to my liking.
Game keeps freezing up at a certain cutscene 80% of the way through the game. I literally can't go on...
I really enjoyed My Father Lied. What begins as a personal mystery about a father’s disappearance gradually expands into a layered story that brings together Mesopotamian history, archaeology, war, and cultural memory. The narrative feels thoughtful and ambitious, without losing its emotional core. Some puzzles definitely made me stop and think — more than once — but that challenge felt coherent with the tone of the game. It rewards attention, logic, and patience, and the sense of progression feels earned. What I appreciated most is how the game connects personal trauma with broader questions about knowledge, identity, and historical responsibility. It invites reflection without forcing answers. If you enjoy narrative-driven puzzle games that ask you to engage both intellectually and emotionally, this is a very solid experience.
