It's definitely made for people who are underage. It has extremely cringe character writing. Also I started Chads route and he literally chased the main character down (yes, running after him) after he got scared of him and ran away. Super creepy. Hell nah.
Lol this game is so ass XD
Love interests gave me butterflies. Mc is so me that's why it felt more real.
Fun enough game for those that enjoy dating novel games. Each route has its own cuteness. Wish there were bad endings though. Overall enjoyed the play.
This game is the silliest thing I've ever played. It's poorly written and they clearly don't want to do anything with the setting, making the pacing atrocious, however, that also makes hilarious. I have never laughed so much when playing something. It is so bad that it becomes good. There is tonal whiplash to the point that it becomes comedic and I'm convinced they spent all their budget on the background art because no supporting character gets a sprite and the leads are a bit bare on fitting expressions. Overall if you want a good game, this is not the game to get. If you want a funny game, absolutely worth it. 10/10
Steam deck compatible + comfy: yes (of course, it works smoothly on PC as well) Rating: 8/10 Despite the mixed reviews I saw, I actually enjoyed this far more than I anticipated. There's a lot to dive into this review and I'll try to be discreet about everything. Story is typical cliche otome style, but that's the charm of it. Dialogue is good and sometimes well written in some areas, but I can admit that Hinata's constant "but I'm a boy" statements did annoy me too often. Music was great; I enjoyed the jazzy soundtrack strung up in a lot of the scenes. Minus the Jesus song that consistently appears near the end of every route and really took me out of the immersion. UI/ menu is pretty organized and pretty easy to navigate around. Cast is pretty small, consisting of at most 5-6 characters. Depending on the route you choose, some characters will have more screen time than others/ relevancy in Hinata's life. Moreover, the close friendship/ brotherhood between the four main protags (Hinata and all three love interests) will feel more close knit in one route than others. Personally, I liked Alan, Caleb, and Hinata most out of all the characters, especially Alan. Guilty as charged, the artstyle was what drew me into the game. All the CG's are gorgeous, especially a particular one in Alan's route (which is my personal fav). I do wish, however, that there would be more CG's in this game like how other dating sim VN's do. There were a lot of moments throughout the game that actually felt like a CG would pop up, but sadly ended up not being the case. While lots of reviews here suggest to play the routes by preference, there's actually a specific order to play by. After playing all three routes, I notice that each route slightly reveals new information, leading to the next route that not only brings up that same information but builds on top of it, further tying up more loose ends of the story. Chronological order: ♥︎ Route 1: Alan: His route is the player's introduction, basically giving first hand world building in the kind of environment Hinata would be facing in New York. It gives just enough of a baseline that the other two routes would later fill in. It's important to note that the love interest's job occupation and how soon it's revealed to Hinata also plays a big factor in who's route should be prioritized first. Although Alan reveals his occupation much later in his own route than Brad, his occupation is slowly hinted at over time and is Hinata's first primary threat that the story makes known. This occupation will later be expanded upon by Brad's route and his connection to Alan, which is why Alan's route makes sense to tackle first. ♥︎ Romance wise, his route I would say is the most tame and vanilla you'd get. Alan knows when to keep his distance from Hinata without making him uncomfortable, while still being flirty every now and then. He starts out somewhat cold and distant from Hinata, but over time slowly shows more emotion the more he hangs around with Hinata. Backstory and connection to another important character are well written. Unlike the other characters, Alan plays a lot of relevancy to Hinata's life, even outside of his own route. I notice that even when Hinata is romancing another guy, Alan (despite having a small part in that route) will show up and be Hinata's emotional support that he goes to. Def my personal fav out of the three. ♥︎ This is the primary route where I felt like all four protags felt the most close knit together, since the other two love interests would show up frequently to hang out but also give Hinata advice. ♥︎ Route 2: Brad: The fan favorite of the bunch and for good reason. While this route was the best well written, I did feel like there should have been an extra scene or two in certain spots, especially near the end of his route. Just like Alan, Brad knows when to keep his distance at the same time making his romantic interest to Hinata known. He and Hinata click as fast friends and develop very well over time. Moreover, Brad has a great backstory and issues of his own that he battles against to which it's lovely seeing the amount of support Hinata gives him. Lots of positive development on both ends. ♥︎ Romance-wise, his is mildly spicy. Being bolder and more emotional than Alan, expect to see Brad and Hinata doing more than just kissing and spending time together. Even outside of that, we see the two hang out and get to know each other a lot as well. ♥︎ This route I would say is the second route where the cast somewhat felt close knit, but not entirely as Chad shows up way more than Alan in this route for some odd reason. :/ ♥︎ Route 3: Chad: The most disliked route with a bunch of questionable red flags. Def not my fav and there's more players who can agree that this route is best to be played last instead of the intro to the game. Plot-wise, however, Chad's route actually ties up the remaining pieces of the puzzle and reveals the mastermind behind Hinata's misfortunes. Moreover, he's the last character to reveal his occupation (only done in his own route fyi) and there's a reason behind that. So if you don't want to get spoiled and keep your first blind reaction to the story positive, please play this guy's route last. ♥︎ Romance-wise, it's very spicy--in a bad way. Chad does not know how to keep his distance from Hinata and commits some uncomfortable behaviors. I'll give him a point for somewhat backing off when Hinata tells him to stop, but that still doesn't disappear later on in his route. Also, both his good and normal endings were very...odd. ♥︎ This route is def where the main four did not feel close at all. Brad barely shows up a lot strangely and despite Alan having more screen time in this route, he and Chad have some sort of rivalry over Hinata. :/ But I will say that it was interesting seeing more of Alan and Chad's relationship with each other, since it was slightly hinted at in Alan's route. For each route, there's one good and one normal ending, no bad endings. There's also a skip function that will activate once you've read through the routes/ dialogue once. Choices will vary as two or three options depending on the situation and sort of make an impact on the ending you'll get. Achieving the endings are pretty easy without a guide, I'd suggest choosing the opposite option (i.e. choosing one option the love interest would want to do and then second playthrough, go for the one you didn't choose/ the option your love interest doesn't want). There's no love meter, but a good way to know if you'll get the good ending is their positive responses to Hinata's choices. Lastly, you get to choose which route you want to go in at the character selection menu. Despite the flaws that I could nitpick more, I'd still suggest picking this up on sale and giving it a shot. It's a pretty fun play, if you turn your brain off and not think about the weird plot so much. Edit: if there's ever a future patch, please give Caleb a romance route!! >< I really wanted to romance him!
First of all I would like to say. The game may be short but the lead up to the endings are very emotional and actually build on the characters. It's not some mindless fk game that has no story. Which is really surprising!
Brad has level 7800 rizz. Two hot for his own good. I know this is a V E R Y far fetched idea but I would like to see a version with "kith". Wendigoon reference
that was hot.
.........underrated peak chaos game. Chad is for the red flag lovers <333333333.
