This is a very enjoyable game that reminds me of DigDug, but it is original enough to certainly stand on it's own. The fast pace makes it mildly addictive and is challenging enough to make me sweat a bit, but is still fun. I played until I hit 500,000 points which took about 80 minutes. You could easily get many more hours of enjoyment out of it if you wanted to push for the 1 million mark or get all of the achievements, which I might do later as you can casually play a few rounds in 10 to 15 minutes. A nice break from the more time sink games I've been playing as of late.
An amazing throwback to the great arcade classics and yet able to hold his own with original concepts and great gameplay.

有宝藏游戏潜力,差评为广大中文玩家谋福利,无中可玩。 we need chinese, cloud save, windowed mode need 1920x1080 and more.
Murtop is a tightly focused arcade-style action game developed by hiulit and published by Flynn’s Arcade that fully embraces the design philosophy of early 1980s coin-op classics. From its very first screen, the game makes it clear that it is less concerned with modern conventions and more interested in capturing the immediacy, clarity, and escalating tension that defined the golden age of arcades. Everything about Murtop—from its single-screen stages to its sharp difficulty curve—is built around quick reactions, precise movement, and the pursuit of mastery through repetition. At its core, Murtop is built on a simple but demanding gameplay loop. Players control Murti, a small rabbit character navigating compact arenas filled with hostile moles. The primary tool at your disposal is the ability to place bombs that explode in a cross-shaped pattern after a brief delay. This mechanic is deceptively simple but extremely unforgiving. Bomb placement must account not only for enemy movement but also for your own escape routes, as the blast radius is generous and leaves little margin for error. Every stage becomes a spatial puzzle played at high speed, where survival depends on anticipating movement patterns rather than reacting at the last second. The game’s structure reinforces its arcade roots through a large number of looping stages that steadily increase in intensity. Enemy behavior evolves gradually, with faster movement, tighter formations, and more aggressive pursuit patterns that force players to refine their strategies rather than rely on instinct alone. Periodic bonus stages break up the tension by shifting the focus to item collection under pressure, offering a brief change of pace while still demanding precision. This rhythmic alternation between stress and release mirrors the design of classic arcade cabinets, where short bursts of relief were often used to keep players engaged between increasingly punishing waves. Visually, Murtop is a deliberate throwback. Its pixel art style uses a limited color palette and clean, readable sprites that prioritize clarity over embellishment. Each element on screen is instantly recognizable, which is essential given the speed at which decisions must be made. Optional visual filters and display modes allow the game to resemble a CRT arcade monitor, further reinforcing the nostalgic presentation without interfering with gameplay. The simplicity of the visuals ensures that difficulty comes from enemy behavior and player error rather than visual clutter. Controls are intentionally minimal, reflecting the design ethos of classic arcade games. Movement and bomb placement are all that players need to master, and there are no power-ups, skill trees, or ability unlocks to soften the challenge. Instead, progression comes purely from player improvement. As stages grow more demanding, success relies entirely on better positioning, faster decision-making, and deeper familiarity with enemy patterns. This purity of design is one of Murtop’s greatest strengths, though it also means the game offers little mechanical variety beyond its core loop. Audio design complements the retro aesthetic with upbeat chiptune music and sharp sound effects that enhance feedback without overwhelming the senses. Explosions, enemy defeats, and stage transitions are punctuated by satisfying audio cues that reinforce timing and rhythm. The soundtrack maintains a high-energy tone that pushes players forward, encouraging repeated attempts even after sudden failure. Difficulty is where Murtop truly defines itself. The game is intentionally unforgiving, with tight timing windows and aggressive enemy behavior that punish hesitation. Mistakes are usually fatal, and recovery options are limited, which can lead to frustration for players unaccustomed to old-school arcade design. However, this same harshness is what gives the game its addictive quality. Each failure feels instructive, revealing a small improvement to be made on the next attempt, whether it’s a safer bomb placement or a cleaner escape route. Replayability is driven almost entirely by score chasing and self-improvement. Leaderboards encourage competitive play, while the sheer number of stages and escalating difficulty provide long-term goals for dedicated players. Mastery is measured not in completion alone, but in efficiency, consistency, and composure under pressure. For players who enjoy refining execution and pushing limits, Murtop offers substantial longevity despite its simple mechanics. Ultimately, Murtop succeeds by knowing exactly what it wants to be. It does not attempt to modernize or reinterpret arcade design; instead, it preserves it with confidence and care. While its relentless difficulty and minimal systems may not appeal to everyone, especially those seeking narrative depth or mechanical variety, it delivers a focused and authentic arcade experience. For fans of classic single-screen action games, pixel art aesthetics, and pure skill-based challenges, Murtop stands as a polished homage that captures the intensity and charm of the arcade era without compromise. Rating: 8/10
Impeccable design. You won't regret it
arcade game
It's exactly what it looks like, a fun arcade experience. Can't fault it.
As unfair as the real thing. Pure addictive Golden Age arcade goodness. Recommended.
Excellent arcade action, different enough to stand out but familiar enough for anyone to learn. Also, they stole my idea for an insert coin gimmick! Damn! This game is very good, and the QR code generator that lets you record global high scores is a super neat idea that I will steal. This game is excellent!
