Murasaki Tsurugi is an explosive puzzle game. While this is a sequel to Murasaki, you can fully enjoy the game even without having played the previous title. Compared with the last game, this one is even more refreshing and fun to play.

Reviews
a bit different from the first one but, overall, it's a cool puzzle/bullet hell game
Great game that improves quite alot compared to previous tittle. Simple, yet fun with alot of depth to be discovered. Also absolutely amazing soundtrack.
Murasaki Tsurugi is an arcade action shooter developed by Katatema and published by AGM PLAYISM that combines fast-paced combat, explosive chain mechanics, and bullet-heavy survival gameplay into a focused experience built around skill mastery. Serving as a follow-up to the original Murasaki, the game expands upon established ideas while maintaining the accessibility and intensity that define classic arcade design. Rather than relying on long progression systems or cinematic presentation, it concentrates entirely on delivering tight gameplay where quick thinking and precise movement determine survival. The foundation of Murasaki Tsurugi appears familiar at first. Players move through dangerous battlefields filled with enemy waves and increasingly complex attack patterns while attempting to survive overwhelming situations. However, beneath the traditional arcade shooter framework lies a more strategic layer built around explosive chain reactions and battlefield control. Success depends not only on avoiding danger but also on understanding how to turn enemy pressure into offensive opportunities. One of the strongest features comes from the game's explosion system. Environmental objects and enemy placement create situations where carefully timed attacks trigger destructive chains capable of clearing large sections of the battlefield. Instead of simply firing endlessly into incoming threats, players are encouraged to think strategically about positioning and timing. Learning how to maximize these interactions becomes one of the most rewarding parts of progression. The controls remain intentionally simple and approachable. Players can quickly understand movement and attack systems without spending extensive time learning complicated mechanics. This accessibility works in the game's favor because it allows attention to remain focused on mastery rather than control complexity. Despite straightforward inputs, deeper mechanics gradually emerge as stages become more demanding. Difficulty progression forms an important part of the experience. Early encounters introduce core systems while later stages begin filling the screen with increasingly dangerous enemy attacks and projectile patterns. Bullet-heavy gameplay becomes central to the challenge, demanding careful movement and constant awareness. The difficulty feels designed around improvement and repetition rather than artificial barriers, encouraging players to gradually sharpen skills through repeated attempts. Character selection introduces additional depth. Multiple playable options allow players to approach combat differently depending on personal preference. Each character brings distinct strengths that influence how encounters unfold. One playstyle may emphasize stronger battlefield control and ranged pressure while another rewards aggressive movement and faster offensive pacing. This distinction creates meaningful replay value because mastering one character does not automatically guarantee mastery over another. Experimenting with different approaches changes how stages feel and encourages players to adapt strategies accordingly. The pacing remains consistently energetic throughout progression. Arcade-inspired design principles shape every encounter, maintaining momentum without unnecessary interruptions. The game understands that strong arcade experiences rely heavily on maintaining player engagement through continuous action, and Murasaki Tsurugi succeeds by preserving that rhythm effectively. Visual presentation complements gameplay particularly well. Bright effects and colorful environments create spectacle without sacrificing readability. Even during chaotic moments where explosions and enemy attacks fill the screen, battlefield information remains visible enough to support precision gameplay. That visual clarity becomes especially important during more demanding encounters. Audio design strengthens the arcade atmosphere further. Music supports the fast pace while helping establish energy across different stages. Sound effects provide satisfying feedback during explosions and combat interactions, reinforcing the impact of successful attacks and chain reactions. One of the game's greatest strengths comes from how it rewards improvement. Progress depends heavily on understanding systems and refining execution rather than relying on progression shortcuts. Early failures naturally become learning opportunities. Over time, situations that initially appear overwhelming become manageable through experience and mechanical understanding. The score-chasing structure also adds longevity for players interested in optimization. Arcade games often thrive on replayability built around personal improvement and efficiency, and Murasaki Tsurugi embraces that philosophy effectively. Better performance becomes its own reward. The smaller scope naturally limits certain areas. Players expecting lengthy campaigns or heavily narrative-driven progression may find the experience lighter than larger productions. Story elements exist primarily to support gameplay rather than dominate it. However, the focused design allows the strongest mechanics to remain central without distractions. Katatema created an action shooter that understands the appeal of classic arcade principles while introducing enough mechanical identity to stand apart from similar experiences. AGM PLAYISM helps deliver a title that values skill growth, experimentation, and replayability over unnecessary complexity. Players who enjoy bullet hell shooters, score-focused arcade experiences, explosive combat systems, and games built around mastery will likely find substantial appeal in Murasaki Tsurugi. It delivers satisfying action through focused design and rewarding mechanics while capturing the intensity that continues to make arcade shooters compelling. Rating: 8/10
SHMUP is the genre with the best music. And this is easily on the top 5 of the best SHMUP soundtracks. And yes, the game is also very good. It's a nice spin on the bullet hell genre where you have to bounce some flat polygons against each other to do more damage.
Somehow the music is even better in this sequel! Attack patterns and enemy waves got more intense to make up for the blocks no longer hurting you, so it feels more frenzied and only a bit less tactical.
I was very confused at first, but after looking at some playthroughs and googling around about wtf is going on, I'm hooked.
La música de este juego es de otro planeta.-
