About
A regular camping trip turns into a nightmare when Leo and Nara wake up in a dungeon with no memory of how they arrived. After days of captivity, Leo finally finds a way to escape and sets out to rescue Nara.
Moventure is a movelike: a precision platformer where the world isn't the puzzle-your character is.
Key Features:
Master the Moveset: Using classic NES-era controls (D-Pad + 2 Buttons), you must discover and master over 100 unique movements.
Creative Platforming: +100 hand-crafted levels designed to test your muscle memory and creativity. Figure out your own way to complete any level as you master more and more skills.
Die, Die, Die: not your average "perfect hero". Trip, roll, crash, fall, die in unexpected and hilarious ways. Rise, repeat. Every death counts and... sometimes even helps!
Pixelated love: A tribute to the golden age of gaming with a modern twist.

Playing since reventure (god game). Moventure mantains the humor and it has a lot of useful (and unuseful) controls, I love every of them, it takes some practice and time, depending on your own ability. Also, don't try to get EVERY chest or every path at your first run, you won't get them all for *minor spoiler*.
I really enjoyed reventure so I was so ready to like that one but even though I didn't quite finish the game yet I can't in good conscience recommend it to other people. (I rekon I'm about 75% finish or so) On principle it is a good idea, I really like that the two button combo make you able to do all sort of things. However in practice this is a very frustrating game. - You keep doing things you didn't want to do because everything is mapped on the same buttons (say, the game registering up+a even though what you really wanted was just a regular jump diagonaly so up+right+a) - The game make a very bad job at let you understand what trigger you being killed when touching a wall. Sometimes it's fairly obvious, you running and get stopped face first into the wall, sometimes it's not obvious, you try to wall jump but sometime the game think you should die, sometimes not. Sometime you just try to jump high to reach a ledge but you die instead. - Some ledge related jump feel very inconsistant to do. One time it's going to be nice and high and other short and bad for simingly no reason as (in my point of view) I did the same things in both cases. The novelty alone is not enough, it was a nice attempt but at the end of the day, I would rather have more buttons if it fixes some of the weirdness rather than a couple of button that being overly frustrated by the character doing the wrong move. On the plus side, it's still a pretty funny and goofy game (in my opinion). If the issues cited above were fixed (more consistant jumps on ledges, less death when touching a wall for what's look like no good reasons and the game less prone to do the wrong action) I would have recomended it. should note that I do enjoy frustrating game at times (getting over it, the dark soul games, sekiro, elden ring, plenty of plattformers/metroid vania and what not) so it's not like I have a distaste from frustrating game, but usually the good parts over shadow the frustrating ones and this time the frustrating parts are overshadowing the good parts.
I had enjoyed Reventure quite a bit, so figured I'd give this game a try. I have mixed feelings about this game. The concept is really cool. I enjoy that there are a lot of different moves and ways your character can behave. The platforming is mostly okay. Sometimes it can feel inconsistent or buggy on ledges. Sometimes the game seems to punish you in unexpected ways. I play a lot of platformers, and I'm usually pretty good at knowing when it's my fault or the game's fault. Then there are some very intentional annoying things. Like tripping over rocks, slamming into walls constantly, dying to a rock that was moving ever so slightly. I had to tough it out to get all the chests and such. The pixel art in the game is quite good. It's very basic but in a way that's charming. The music is good too. I'm going to give it a thumbsup, but it's reluctant. I would say there are plenty of other games to play before this one. But if you really like platformers, are low on options, and are looking to scratch that itch, this one probably will.
Really good game and very unique Discovering how and when to use a move is rewarding This games controls is unintuitive by design which makes it hard to play but creates an enjoyable skill ceiling My only problem with it is a few of the levels/rooms are "puzzles" which makes a second playthrough a bit less fun to get through because it slows the pace and doesn't fully utilizes the movement of the game
