About
In Mothkeep you'll explore whimsical and colorful habitats of a peaceful nature sanctuary where you carefully spot and document moths in every stage of life: from tiny egg to sparkly adult.
Expect ~ 1-2 hours of cozy moth-spotting in nature.
Discover a range of different moth species and each of its growth stages. All based on real life examples and facts!
Each habitat has its own native moths waiting to be discovered. Hover over the environment to spot subtle hints and reveal hidden moths. Try to get a good look at each of them with careful timing and patience.
Some moths are shy or simply hard to spot.
With colorful flowers, sweets and other treats, you can find them more easily. The shop offers everything you’ll need. Including hints to where certain moths prefer to appear, helping you track down missing entries in your journal.
Placing these items in the habitats will actively attract moths, helping your search and making the handcrafted environments even brigther and more lively.

Hey, I'm ivi and this is my very first solo Steam release. In consequence some things might not be perfect, but I'm willing to make reasonable changes, if friendly & constructive feedback is given. Thanks in advance!
During playtesting it also became clear that the game ended up being shorter than I originally planned. However, I'm very happy with the experience it offers, so instead of artificially stretching it, I decided to keep it short and focused, and simply set a lower price instead. I hope this feels like a good compromise.
I really hope you enjoy this little game 🦋💕
Take your journal and see what’s hiding among the flowers.
Whether you’re here to complete your journal or simply enjoy a quiet moment in nature, Mothkeep is waiting! 🦋

This is a truly warm and wholesome nature-based game where you not only get to inspect moths at their various stages and development and learn fun facts, but also decorate each region to attract more moths and also just, appreciate the story. The art is gorgeous and looks real in a lot of places, and the beautiful story is woven into the game through notes within each region. It's a relaxing journey and all around a great time! Mallow, the cat, is a perfect baby. I received a review copy of the game and I had some issues during testing with the camera movement making me feel nauseous, and the dev very kindly added in options to add a toggle to keep the camera static in two different ways (approaching the moths and the following the mouse movement) which helped me immensely. I always appreciate when devs add in extra accessibility features!! It is a wonderful game and I'm glad I'll be able to replay it comfortably :3
Mothkeep is a very cute short cozy game. I 100% the game in about an hour and a half, taking it fairly slowly while enjoying the story in the letters and admiring the detail in the art and journal entries. I even learned a few things about some moths that I didn't know. I personally enjoyed how simple the gameplay was. It's repetitive, but not annoying. I'd recommend this game to anyone who loves bugs and nature who's looking for a quick easy game.
Very short point-and-click collecting game. Incredible amounts of love went into this little project and it shows. Lovely art, awesome moth facts, and a jaunty little backing track.
An amazing small game for people who, like me. loves moths!!!
Love this relaxing game. I've gotten into native plant gardening in my own hometown and am fascinated by the relationship between bugs and their host plants. It's nice to see some moths from a habitat that is different from my own! The UI experience has been really good; navigating around has been intuitive. I plan to keep playing at a leisurely pace and am looking forward to filling out the garden once I've finished the moth notebook!
What a wonderful cute little game! I had a lot of fun decorating my small garden to attract EVEN MORE MOTHS :o
Super cute game! I loved learning about different moth species and customizing each area. Definitely worth the buy!
Простенькая инди игра по собиранию мотыльков. Собираешь мотыльков и узнаёшь интересные факты о них. Игра очень короткая, но очень приятная. Ставлю игре 9/10.
This game was a very cute way to learn about many moths I've often seen in my own surroundings. It took me just over an hour to 100%; the mechanics are simple but well done, the art is gorgeous (I really appreciate that you can zoom in on each sketch, that's a cute little touch!) and the storied element was far more tender than I expected. Plus, you can pet the cat! I didn't experience any bugs and this was an afternoon well spent. If you liked Kabuto Park for its bugs and art style, this is a great follow-up!
Cool small bug game! Go play this if you liked Kabuto Park!
