I had a solid time with this game. Didn't know a thing about it prior. It's a side scroller RPG which does contain character upgradin'. The spear combat is satisfyin'. Didn't get stuck or anything like that. The atmosphere is nice. Ran smoothly for me. I do wish it had voice overs. Still..I'm lookin' forward to continuin' the game. Really enjoying playing through this game right now. It is a 2D RPG with a thoughtful map lay-out. Seems like they spent a lot of time working out the lore and making the story special. The mechanics are great, I enjoy evading and attacking with the bow and arrow. I am looking forward to the release of the Dragon Knight character, looks like a much different play style based on the trailer. The art work and music are also really well done. Kind of reminds me of the first time I played through Diablo 2, Good job.
Pros: + Artwork is beautiful. + Music is soothing and adds to the atmosphere. + By the looks of the map, there seems to be a whole world to explore and a sizeable amount of stats to unlock. Looking forward to progression. Cons: - Needs some optimization. Loaded it on my PC and Steamdeck. PC runs great but I only get about 5 frames on my Steamdeck at highest power setting. - No damage feedback. No sound or animation when taking hits. - Can be kind of buggy: At certain locations, all buttons become unresponsive until I hit select. Regardless of the issues this game has some potential and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Lovely art and soothing music. The level layout is fun to explore. The overworld map promises a lot more to explore, we'll see how Early Access goes. The combat, while smooth, feels like it could be punchier. Like enemies don't respond to being attacked and the feedback for when you're hit is nonexistent (except your hp bar goes down). Looking forward to its development.
Pretty fun & has a lot of potential. I enjoyed the artwork & music a lot. Looking forward to future developments
Excited to see this game continue to progress with updates and eagerly looking forward to its full release. I found myself having trouble putting it down because i wanted to just get to the next campfire to see what new enemies and NPC's i would fine along the way.
these wooded embers are deep. im truly astonished by how much this game has to offer. from the tons of music to the overall vibe and atmosphere to the gameplay itself, everything has layers upon layers. and not only is there a ton to chew on and stuff, but it all seems so lovingly crafted. its all very smooth and fits together without gaps. theres a lot of stuff that reminds me of morrowind in the best way, the way that makes you feel like youre stepping into a lived in world. theres a lot of high intricacy mechanics like resistances, rep from different factions, skills and a full on talent tree, and even dang old PERCEPTION CHECKS so rad. im stoked to keep exploring and delve further into the world and the lore also i love my emberfly companion. she helps me to not die, which is always appreciated
Loving the vibe of this game! The music is perfect and found my self loving just exploring the depth of the first area. The skill tree seams super fun for a side stroller and runs great on my PC. Excited to continue playing and for more updates!
This game has only just released on Early Access and already has so much to explore and check out. The story and quests are still being fleshed out but now's a great time to hop in and offer feedback in the final portion of the development. The world art is gorgeous and the music is so good!! The gameplay already feels so good and the skill tree is pretty satisfying to fill out.
