Information / Review English
Moonshot - The Great Espionage is a Casual- Action game developed by NimbleBeasts.
Gameplay / Story
You slip into the role of a Spy in a fictional Country in the "Moon race" era. Competing with the United States and the Soviet Union, you must move in the art of espionage to use the Techniques of Espionage and Sabotage wisely to ensure that your Nation is the first on the moon. The Goal in each Level is to achieve all Goals within a Time limit and Items can also be stolen. The Objects are partly guarded by Guards and you can sneak past them by staying out of their field of Vision.
Pro
+ exciting Spy thriller + Story driven Backgrounds + over 30 challenging Levels with variety + lots of Upgrades for your Character like steal + different Solutions to move forward + several mini-games + Price / Performance ratio is right + many setting Options + Achievements
Contra
- at some Point seems too monotonous
Conclusion
Moonshot - The Great Espionage offers you an exciting Spy thriller with casual flair, which is presented in a suitable look. Clear buy recommendation in this genre. PS: First of all, many thanks to the developer who made this key available to us for the group.
Information / Review Deutsch
Moonshot - The Great Espionage ist ein Actionspiel in Casual Optik, welches von NimbleBeasts entwickelt wurde.
Gameplay / Geschichte
Kontra
- wirkt irgendwann zu monoton
Fazit
Moonshot - The Great Espionage bietet dir einen spannenden Spionagethriller mit Casual Flair, welcher in passender Optik dargestellt wird. Klare Kaufempfehlung in diesem Genre. PS: Zunächst einmal vielen Dank an den Entwickler, der uns diesen Schlüssel für die Gruppe zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Once there was a time when 2 big Nations made a Race to Space. The USA and the SOVIET UNION. A time of Espionage, of Scientists and Military, of Honor and Glory. But what if another Nation would take part into this Race? Welcome to: MOONSHOT – THE GREAT ESPIONAGE. MOONSHOT is an amazing and charming Retro Plattformer. You are an Agent for a fictional Country. You get Missions, you execute them. And that in a very nice done Pixel World that is guided by an absolut amazing Soundtrack that could have jumped out of a sixties Espionage Series. You start in your Headquarter. Here you are able to learn about the Game Basics on a little Training Course. There is also a scientist that sells useful Agent Stuff. Andy es, you have your own office. Here you can save your Gaming Progress. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2563462458 Got it? Then lets move to beautifull Natasja, the Secretary of your Boss the General. After a warm welcome you move on to the General to get your first Job. Yes, it is all up to you. So lets do it. While you do your Missions you have to enter several Buildings. These Buildings have many Security. That can be Guards, Cameras or just the Person behind the Desk at the Entrance. Later you have to deal with Dogs, Elite Guards and more. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2563462037 It is important that nobody sees you. If that happens 3 Times, you loose. To don´t let that happen you have some nice abilities. You can easily hide yourself nearly everywhere by pressing Space to press yourself against the wall. Sounds funny, looks funny, is very usefull. You can also taser Guards, but your Taser Battery is limited. While you sneak through the Buildings you have to find Codes for Safes and can also find Money in furniture. There are also Mini Games for open Doors or starting diversions and much more. Take your Time to explore the Buildings before returning to Headquarter. Sometimes you will find more money for your Gadget Store. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2563462954 I have so much fun with the Missions and to plan my Progress while hiding at a Wall. A very big Thanks to the Developer for letting me having Fun as a Kind of AGENT OF U.N.C.L.E. which this Game reminds me . Thanks! And thank YOU for Reading. Вполне приличный атмосферный шпионский пиксельный стелс.
I was looking forward to this a lot, but it just isn't very fun. It feels more like an old-school point & click than a stealth game in the sense that often in order to progress you have to interact with every single object to see if any door or cabinet can be opened or not (which you have to do anyway to pick up cash), deal with the worst lockpicking minigame I've ever seen in ANY game, and a bunch of other stuff, which leads to it doesn't really feel like a stealth game where I can see a clear goal and formulate a plan how to achieve it, but rather just trial and erroring the way forward. I'm sure there is some depth here but I can't be bothered to find out. Also the trailer is misleading in that it makes it seem like there's actually a story in the game - there isn't, not at all, you just go on mission after mission with only the vaguest of effort put into a reason why as writing goes. Not that I'm against that had the stealth been better, but it is very misleading.
A simple, but well made and very charming game. The gameplay reminds of classics like Bonanza Brothers and has a pleasantly quick flow to it.
My Experience I really enjoyed playing Moonshot, and inserting the fictional nation of Ustria into the space race. There were a few missions that tripped me up, but you'll be a lot more competent (both because of your experience and skill unlocks) at the end of your time with the game. Although the gameplay is fun, there's also typically only one, circuitous way to proceed in each level. I would welcome a bit more "immersive sim" into the experience. A few other points:

One particular tricky section involves timing how long it takes a guard to cross a room, so that you can emerge when his back is turned. Your screen turns black when you climb inside the cupboard to hide. Although this was definitely tricky, it also made me feel like a super spy.
When you drop from one level to the one below, you will always fall in the center. This can make you accidentally set off infrared alarms that you thought you'd dodged.
Lockpicking is tricky, even with the upgrade. This could probably stand to be a bit more intuitive and less random.
When you retry a level, you (for some reason) keep the money that you acquired in your failed attempt and can collect it again. Therefore, you can (sort of) grind out enough cash to buy all the upgrades relatively early in the game. I did this unintentionally, just failing the same level over and over.
I wish the game didn't have the pixelated breasts on the screens in the game. Not because I was offended, but because as far as I know, that's the only NSFW aspect of the game. Since Steam often censors NSFW games by default, fewer players are seeing this game than it deserves.
Purchase the taser upgrade first. Although you don't need it much in the earlier levels, that extra charge will soon be a lifesaver.
If you're a fan of this 2D style of stealth game (or you played Trilby: The Art of Theft and loved it), I'd recommend Moonshot. It's a little rough around the edges, but this sort of game isn't released very often.
Moonshot is a nice casual puzzle game that resembles simpler Gunpoint. If there was something for me that stood out, it was the music which really fits in and sets the whole atmosphere of the game. On the other hand, the level design could use a helping hand, where at times you are flooded with many doors which you have no idea where they lead to and have to use them on a trial&error basis. Moreover, there is a mission or two with really unfair traps and unless you are a god gamer, I cannot see how anyone can pass through without raising an alarm. This is in stark contrast to the rest of the game, where you don't have to sweat at all. Also the story seems rather unsatisfying, where you just complete mission by mission without any gradual progress. All in all If you like this type of games and you don't mind the somewhat high price tag, then this game might be for you.
