Monument Valley 2

Such an amazing game!!! Mind-blowing optical illusions, paired with sounds that complement them. I love the story —it’s short, but you never know what will happen next. Relaxing and peaceful. (Monument Valley 1 & 2 review)

This is the ultimate relaxing game. The colors are striking, the music is soothing, and the tension is nonexistent. I suppose the only way this wouldn't be relaxing is if you stress about not being able to solve the puzzles. For whatever reason--maybe because the music is so beautiful and the colors and shapes are so fun to play with--I don't find I have that problem too much (and I would describe myself who has that problem A LOT). The only thing I dislike about this game and the first one (which I also adored) is they're very short and have limited replayability. Because the puzzles are so intricate and clever, they can't be procedurally generated or anything like that; the upside of that is you can tell how much love and care went into each puzzle, the downside is I'm sure they take a lot of work to develop and there aren't a lot of them. However, I would still urge you to try this game if you like clever, beautiful puzzles, the kind that make you smack yourself upside the head when you see the elegant solution. Also, I've taken great advantage of the screenshot feature as the puzzles are visually spectacular and just fun and soothing to look at. Many of the puzzles are optical illusions and I find following the lines with my eyes to be soothing and grounding, great for when I'm feeling panicky or disordered. Finally, I have trouble using a mouse and keyboard for long periods of time but that's really the best way to play, as it's all cursor-based. Unfortunately it means I have to play for a shorter amount of time, but on the plus side it draws the game out!

Este juego continúa la historia de las señoritas geométricas, donde a diferencia del primer juego, aquí la historia cambia a una mamá y su hija. Desde el primer nivel acompañamos a Ro mientras le enseña a su pequeña hija los secretos de la geometría sagrada. La relación va aumentando con el pasar de la historia, cómo pasan de caminar juntas de la mano, a separarse para que la hija encuentre su propio camino, y finalmente (SPOILERS) [spoiler] el inevitable y maduro momento de dejarla ir. [/spoiler] No tiene necesidad de diálogos, narración de lo que va ocurriendo, nada. Solo frases que te dejan pensando cuál es el verdadero significado de tu existencia y qué es lo que más buscamos en nuestras vidas. Pueden tranquilamente comenzar con el Monument Valley 2 como el 1 o el 3, independiente del orden, cada una narrará su propia historia del pasado que haría llorar hasta tu profe de geometría. Es de los juegos más hermosos que tuve la suerte de probar en mi vida. 10/10

The story of this game is sooo cute. The gameplay is relaxing. As someone who loves puzzles, this one was not challenging whatsoever. The whole game is very short. I went back to get the only achievement that is not simply "finish this level" and even this took me no time. I used this game more as a way to calm down before going to bed then anything else. I didn't pay attention to the story when playing the first one, but this one I did and I kinda wanna go back and redo the first one to focus on the story more. So if you are looking for a challenging puzzle game: this ain't it, like at all. If you are looking for a quick meditative experience, then that might be more what this is. I will be getting the third one, but I will wait for a sale, because games in this series are very short, so I don't know if I recommend it at full price, unless you have the means and want to encourage the devs!

I like this game becuase of how beautiful and ingenious it is but the game is too short. Could easily be finished in under 2 hours and i did not cheat. This game is also much easier than the predecessor.

Had to play MV2 because I played MV1. This one is slightly longer, the puzzles aren't much better or stimulating, despite the variety of colors, the puzzles do not vary. The story eats up a lot of time, unable to skip the cutscenes. Probably not worth it unless you're a perfectionist and want to beat all Monument Valley has to offer.
