Monster Wilds Colorful little game I enjoyed for about 3 hours. Level your character by defeating monsters. Stab them to death with your horn to steal their attack ability. Collect all 15+ abilities. Explore 3 colorful maps. Defeat 3 bosses. Bright, playful, and surprisingly fun! Highly recommend. Thank you for this game! TIPS: - Inventory: "o" - Remember to Save! Save! Save! - To exit the starting area, Stab the Ticken to steal its high-jump, and then escape... Don't be like me trapped at the start until you're one-hit killing 50+ enemies with all 3 ability slots unlocked and no where to go except a pond that happens to spawn you on the other side of the barrier (thank God) without a high-jump. -Stab the bosses to death and steal their ability!
I would recommend this if it were not so buggy, but it's a nice concept. This game should really be tagged with early access. I like that your character gets the physical traits of the monster skills that are equipped. Unfortunately the game is pretty buggy. I would say this is more of a beta version rather than a game ready for launch. I played this with a friend (not multiplayer, we just played at the same time) and he immediately had all the monsters unlocked and could buy any skill, which shouldn't happen since I could only see the monsters that I encountered and captured skills from. 20 minutes into the game and my meat count no longer updated as well stopping me from being able to get any new skills. I would also recommend changing it so that if you encounter one monster, you don't have to select the monster to attack it if there's only one. Further guidance into the game would also be helpful as I didn't realize that the skills equipped helped you travel through certain parts of the map that wouldn't be possible without that skill equipped.

Great Great potential but disappointing implementation and execution. 3/5 rating. 2 biggest flaws, 1st main character model looks like a morph/spore child no matter how you customize it its always ugly unoriginal and disappointing especially in comparison to enemy models which are almost all better in appearance than the main character.2nd battle controls are spread to completely different sides of the screen making selecting your opponent then attack feel like a chore instead of fun. overall aesthetic is good i doesn't have to look expensive or fancy but it needs to be more user friendly with functions the skill implementation is really cool but needing to change which ugly body part your using just to have the skill as well as the body parts not giving any difference in stats seems pointless and once again making it a chore. i would still recommend this game to people looking to see what huge potential it has and drawing interest to it.
Unfortunately I couldn't recommend it. It definitely has potential and is good for a student's effort, but it needs more polish and balancing to be considered playable. I hope the problems could be worked out, as the game premise is fun! +Made by students +Visual style +Variety of monsters and abilities +Free -Very limited options -Barebones tutorial -No key remapping -Awkward battle controls -No story -Very poor balancing

Infinite loading screen, "System Requirements Not Fully Tested", a fancy way of saying "game is not optimazed, at all".
4/10 A simple RPG with turn-based battles Good: - free - actually pretty nice graphics. The cave level has excellent glowing mushrooms and is much better than the ground level. The color palette is great everywhere. Creatures are nice as well So-so: - music is okay but there seems to be 1 track for the battles and 1 for the levels, and they both get repetitive Bad: - battle design is bad. There are lags after every action, and 3/4 of the time is wasted waiting for buttons to appear. These isn't even the attack animations, but simply waiting while buttons aren't on the screen - the first click on buttons in battles always does nothing - the whole system with first click on an ability and then on a target is wrong. When there is 1 enemy, the ability should just attack the enemy. And when 2 enemies, maybe just let the player select a target and use abilities. Battles should be fast in such a simple game. Not even sure they require a special screen - enemies respawn too fast, often just a second after you defeated the same enemy - stats of enemies scale up way too fast - can't see stats of enemies. Only in a separate screen but not in the game itself. Essentially, unless you keep reloading, you'll die the first time you meet an enemy that's of much higher level than you, but you can't even see the level - need some kind of a map. I guess most ppl who tried this game didn't even enter the cave level. I stumbled upon the entrance accidentally. Not even sure how many levels are there in the game - the "steal ability" attack does just 1 hp and must kill the enemy. Without seeing the enemy remaining HP this means that you'd use this attack many times in the end of a battle of a higher-level mob. This is dangerous, so after level 5-6 stealing abilities from mobs becomes almost impossible For a student game, it looks good, and the cave level could even be in a commercial game. However, the combat is garbage, which makes this game very much not fun to play. It looks more like a graphics demo, but no one will really see the gfx since they'll drop it at the tutorial stage or after the first few mobs. No wonder, there were far more people involved with gfx here rather than with the code or game design. i like games with the concept of kill then eat another monster to gain it's ability, and it's free so why not try it, only thing i didnt like is that when i turn the audio down it doesnt change at all
