Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Sep 13 → 1.5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I think it's official -- I like this more than Slay the Spire. There's a little more depth in terms of clear synergy strategies, and that becomes fun to think about. I also like the clarity of knowing what kinds of boss challenges are ahead to inform a deck build.

8/10 Probably objectively a better game then Slay the Spire, but I just find the art design and animations kinda ugly, especially when compared to the smooth animations and clear simple ui of Slay the Spire.
Monster train 1 can't be called perfect game, even great one, it is indeed fiiles with many cards with different mechanics, good visuals and pleaseant music, but at the same time it lashes at you with catastrophicslly low roster of enemies, outrageously long meta progression and nevertheless limited number of combinations, which leads to limited unusual gameplay situations. It is good game, it's true, but nothing more. Good game - 7/10. P.S. BUT Monster train 2 is wonderful, much more cards and mechanics, more enemies and bosses, and even more music (and sometimes it rocks!). So there is really no reason to buy first game, when sequel is already on board, including the fact, that they both cost the same 25 dollars/euro.
Cheers...e l'attesa per Slay the Spire 2 sarà ancora lunga.
Fun game when it works. Music is upbeat. Some compare this game to slay the spire. This game is much easier. Depending on the choices you make you can get constant similar positive results, less dependent on RNG. Game can be played in short bursts for people who don't have a lot of time to play. Fair waning that here is a constant bug that causes the game to hang or crash on start up due to the FMV that plays when the game starts. This is a known issue that still persists years later. 3.5 stars out of 5.
Iris and the Giant.
My negative review has literally nothing to do with the quality of the game in isolation; it's more of a warning to others not to buy it and just buy the sequel instead. Since, truly the only problem with this game is that Monster Train 2 makes it obsolete. And it made my purchase of this pointless and I didn't find out until past the refund window. I really only played this to get my bearings before switching to the sequel as it's a more toned down intro with the same mechanics. But the entirety of this game is not only in MT2, but that is better and bigger in every way. This one seems more like a proof of concept comparitively. Unless you can't run MT2 on your device or this is extremely discounted comparitively and you're very budget conscious, I wouldn't buy this one and get the sequel instead.
The game is less strategy, more grind.. its okay game if cheap, not worth full price
