Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Sep 13 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Monster Train is a mechanically rich, endlessly replayable deck‑builder where every decision — from card choices to track positioning — matters in ways that feel deep without ever being arbitrary. At its core, the game’s mechanics revolve around multi‑lane combat, layered resource control, and high‑impact deck manipulation. Unlike traditional deckbuilders where all combat happens in one space, Monster Train forces you to manage three vertical lanes simultaneously. This adds a tactical dimension: you decide where to place units, when to buff them, and how to stagger defenses so enemy waves break in predictable patterns instead of overwhelming you. Combat loops are satisfying and feedback‑heavy. Every turn, you balance unit placement, spell use, and mana management — and because you’re defending multiple lanes, each decision is a mechanical choice with consequences. Spells don’t just deal damage; they help control lanes, buff allies, or manipulate enemy positions. This makes each card feel like a tactical tool, not just a number. The energy/ember economy system is brilliantly tuned. You earn ember each turn, and deciding how much to invest in units versus spells becomes a recurring mechanical puzzle. Spend too aggressively early and you’ll be fragile later; spend too conservatively and you’ll be overwhelmed. These trade‑offs keep every run engaging and dynamic. Progression systems are layered and rewarding. Runes, upgrades, campfires, and relics all feed into long‑term strategy. Some upgrades create explosive combos but come with risks; others shore up weak lanes or enhance specific strategies. Choosing which artifacts to pursue becomes a meta‑mechanical decision that shapes how future runs play out. Enemy variety reinforces mechanical adaptation. Fliers, shields, high‑health tanks, and status effect mobs all force you to rethink placement and card selection on the fly. There’s no single “default” deck — success comes from adapting to what the game throws at you and leaning into synergies that evolve over the run. Overall, Monster Train’s mechanics merge strategic depth, tactical positioning, and deck management into a coherent, rewarding loop where every choice matters. 10/10 — layered, smart mechanics that make each run feel both strategic and unique.

One of the best card roguelikes.
I'm a sucker for games like Monster Train & Slay the Spire. Monster Train just gives you something different to options & choices throughout the game. It tells an alternate story to what you typically get from games as well. Highly recommend this game
Bottom line: great game, but MT2 has all the same and more story and art! I would go for MT2 if you can afford it. If not, this game is still slick, enjoyable, and deeply replayable. There is not really any story to speak of, though, so if you were hoping to learn about the different characters or settings, definitely go for MT2 instead.
what can I say I like monster ass
