About

The Dimensional Orb was a promise of wealth and knowledge beyond humanity's wildest dreams, hidden away from all until it was discovered and brought to the king. Being human, the king was easily tempted, and for a time the promise held true. Riches, knowledge, and incredible stories flowed into the Kingdom thanks to the Orb… but then came the monsters.
Lots and lots of monsters.
Monster Outbreak is a pixel top-down survival game. Take control of Yulia, the last surviving member of the Royal Guard, and confront the endless monster hordes spawned by the out-of-control Dimensional Orb. Gear up, prepare defenses, lay down traps, cook a possible last meal, and try to stay alive.
Go at it alone - or enlist fellow survivors, using classic local split screen or online multiplayer.

The last stand of the Royal Guard isn't over - until it's over.
Yulia has access to a broad range of weapons to be enchanted, from simple swords and axes to sophisticated bows providing elemental attacks, dealing additional damage and opening new ways of containing the endless waves of enemies.
Build up those defenses! Choose from dozens of turrets, including the bomb-javelin launcher, crossbow turret, and bomb slingshot to set up lethal defensive zones.
Keep hordes of dimensional horrors at bay with a selection of traps to deploy including spike strips, tripwire bombs, and elemental traps.

If the fort holds (big “if”), send Yulia into the fray beyond its protective shell and clash with the monster hordes.
Each wave, eventually, peters out. Use the lull in combat to fix up the base - or venture out, explore, fix bridges, and scavenge the derelict Kingdom.
Hunt down monsters for essential components to craft weapons and items to increase the chances of survival - but watch out for brutal bosses that can decide to crash your party at the worst possible moment.

Game is fun, one thing you should know though if you buy this game... when your using buildings or benches or whatever... use A and D to scroll through the different things you can make... it does not tell you to do that in the tutorial.
A rough game to play UI is nothing to write home about, but the balancing of structures and weapons if atrocious.
Much fun, thank you.
This game has so much potential, but the controls are just awful. I can't move freely; it's just like very old games with the up/down or right/left controls. The default speed is like not moving at all. The mouse range when building defenses is very short; if you have one 2x2 defense in front of you, you can't place another one above it. If you want to take down a wall, don't put any defense next to it because you will hit the defenses or traps too. You can only attack in one direction; if the tree, rock, or enemy is a pixel to the left, you will not hit, but they will hit you. Forget about protecting yourself or dodging attacks because there is no shield or dash mechanic (not the sword special). It feels clunky to be able to attack only on the exact x/y axis and so slowly. This game demands free movement to be really enjoyed; this is not a 2008 Xbox RPG game. If defenses had a vision range instead of an exact direction with tunnel vision, or if the player movements and attacks were more dynamic (at least attack where you are pointing, not on the x/y axes the player is facing), this could be playable. Because the potential is there and I love the idea, I hope this gets updated and becomes playable.
I didn't think this would be primarily a tower defense game, since you got crafting materials and what not. But since you have to buy newer maps and the same currency is also used for progression, I either buy new maps and be less prepared and not bored, or bored and more prepared. Progression currency shouldn't be the same as the currency you use to get new maps.
feels like a parody of a base defense game. definitely not worth it at full price, everything is very grindy with very little money being given for completing missions, very slow advancement, and even doing damage is very slow and disappointing. feels very unfinished as well, expect an "early access" vibe going in despite it being a full release with a sequel planned.
