Monster Jam Battlegrounds is a time trial/racing game ported from Xbox. The game is officially licensed from the real-world monster trucks property of the same name. Unfortunately the gameplay and overall production value is extremely B-grade. Graphics are tolerable but there's no settings to ajust them, nor can the controls be changed (and for some reason rely on arrow keys rather than WASD). There's three gameplay modes, time trials or very simplistic races against a single NPC driver (which may be authentic but it's not fun). The time trial mode doesn't even involve cornering, which is somewhat laughable. While the trucks have different settings like boost and air controls (whatever these are), they don't seem to actually work in the game. There's a million better racing games out there. What do we get when we take a mediocre console game and give it a terrible PC port? Not my recommendation, that's for sure.
Monster Jam Battlegrounds isnt really as bad as peoples say here atleast for me, i enjoyed it more than Monster Jam Steel Titans: Pros: + game isnt grindy and dont stretch out its content (3-4 hours long) + 3 game modes: driving skills with 5 locations and 5 maps each of them, stunt mode with the same 5 locations but 4 maps each and station events with 5 loaction and 3 maps each of them + good soundtrack + for its physics its alright and you can control the Monster Truck soild in air for its 2D sections + driving skill mode and Stunt mode is kinda like Trials with 2D gameplay, station events like race and freestyle are classic 3D Cons: - car sound is annyoing after a while - freestyle is the worst game mode here phyiscs can be weird at times but Monster Jam Steel Titans didnt done it any better - if you fall deep down and you land the cars physics kinda unpredictable - no graphics settings, also no resolution atleast this should be in the game Actually it wasnt to bad maybe i'am kinda alone here but i liked it more than Monster Jam Steel Titans boring grind and lifeless open world.
me entretuvo lo suficiente para completar todos los logros
good game its about monster trucks
One of the absolute worst games I've ever played. Team6 seem to be defunct now (hopefully) and with good reason, they're horrible devs. And you should blacklist GameMill as a publisher as a look at their published games show mostly low quality efforts. Be glad this game is delisted thanks to expired licenses as it's seriously, it's trash-tier. I can't find a single redeeming quality to say about it. The gameplay is mostly a pathetic ripoff of the mostly very good Trials series. But the gameplay is horrible, the inputs barely have any effect and the level design is atrocious. I wish I'd have been smart enough to TRY this game upon buying it so I could've gotten an immediate refund. How idiotic are these developers? During the "Trials"-type stages, you have no steering, BUT, you can for some dumbass reason, have your truck get turned around (it's random and nothing to do with what you do). So, you can be on a record pace, one jump can have your vehicle barrel roll for unknown reasons, get turned as it corkscrews, then land BACKWARDS. That's right, in a game with no steering, you can face the wrong damn direction. I hope these devs never work in this industry again. They need to be somewhere that better suits their IQ's, like determining if you want fries with your order.
I heard it wasn't good. I thought, "well, it's a budget title, maybe people set their bar too high." No. It's just not very good. The stunt courses are just a very low-budget poorly-designed wonky Trials clone. Monster trucks aren't stable - that's what makes skillful driving of them so impressive - but these just wobble like gelatin. Car crushing, building-leaping, back-flipping action is somehow unsatisfying, which just boggles the mind. The stadium events are basically only races, which involve finishing extremely tiny short courses repeatedly. I tried to give it a second chance and after reinstalling it to the exact same computer I uninstalled it from, my save file was gone. I'm sorry, but I can't imagine a situation where this is worth it for you even as a time-waster; if you need monster trucks, go dig up Monster Truck Madness or something. I don't follow Monster Jam much at all but I think its fans deserve better, with the sheer skill on display by its drivers and engineers. This could and should be ripe material for a fantastic game rather than an endless stream of hasty cash-ins.
It really is a shame this game was as bad as it was. I wanted so badly to like it, as I had numerous Monster Jam games on the PS2 and PS3, but it's just ♥♥♥♥ The tracks are all basically the same things with different themes, and there's only 3 game modes. I'm just glad I had gotten this for free off Tremor before they shut down.
nette iedde... Steuerung und Aufmacheung könnte besser sein, aber sonst ok.
It's a okay game. Very short and not a lot of game play. I was able to complete it with just 3 hours of play time.
Pretty decent game to kill time
