Mobile Wars X is a retro-style alien invasion shooter. It's fast paced, easy to die, and has a killer soundtrack. I'm definitely not the target audience for this game, and I found it fairly difficult. It's definitely worth a download, especially considering it's free. https://youtu.be/0YE9t0YNxcU PROS As mentioned above, it has a great soundtrack. Fast gameplay means you shouldn't get bored. Three ships to choose from. CONS I'd recommend to play with a controller, as keyboard buttons can't be configured. There's no build up period to the levels, you are very much thrown straight into the deep-end. High-score only lists "one" high-score.
Mobile Wars X

Recenzja stworzona przez Maxi & NieZnasz
Gra swotrzona w stylu retro. Jest to szybka gra i dość z trudna gdyż często będziemy ginąć. Warto pobrać i sprawdzić swoich sił.
This game was fun and worth the download. Couple things that I don't like about it. There are no checkpoints. If you die you have to start all over. Getting past the first few mins is very difficult when you first start, but it's a fun game to pass the time.
Poderia estar um pouco mais polido.
Mobile Wars X (aka Mobile Wars X Ultimate Simulation Battle) is a 2D retro pixel vertical scrolling arcade shoot 'em up/bullet hell game. Gameplay consists of shooting the baddies, dodging bullets, and collecting blobs and powerups, that's really all there is to it. The nice part about this is that it's not an asset flip, but a genuine attempt to make a video game for gamers to enjoy. Unfortunately the quality of delivery is quite poor. There's an ugly screen filter you can't turn off. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. As far as pixel "art" goes, this is pretty bad, some elements are basic line art, others not, so it's not even thematically consistent. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. It was slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs, although that is not the case here. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. There's no "maybe" option in Steam, unfortunately, but I hope to see more work from this developer, perhaps as part of a professional game development company that can make full use of their talents without needing to make budget/quality compromises, or using low quality/trashware video game construction kits.
