About
A Containment Breach has occurred around the site, bringing a heavy mist. Behind it, monsters are stirring. Among the people, betrayal is spreading.
Welcome to MISTERY, a multiplayer game about cooperating, crafting, surviving, and escaping. Or, it is more about pretending, deceiving, sabotaging, and murdering!
Improved upon features in similar games like Dread Hunger and Project Winter, MISTERY offers enhanced gameplay, storytelling, and friendship-destroying experiences.

Up to 9 players cooperate and explore the crumbling site. During the day, scavenge resources, craft weapons, and retrieve batteries. At night, use batteries to charge the lamp, and survive the long dark by employing items and skills to repel waves of monsters.

Beware, someone among the survivors has been contaminated into beasts wearing human skin. Or worse: they are the anomalies imprisoned in the site, eager to rip reality apart! Don't expose your back to anyone. If you notice someone behaving weirdly, let your allies know immediately - if there's anyone left to trust!

Play 10+ unique heroes as you want. Each of them has the potential to change the game - Gunner uses his heavy fire, Engineer finds batteries quickly, Doctor heals others, Spy hides in the darkness...

Despite the site being on the brink of collapse, some facilities are still functional. Watch others through the monitor, recover resources from locked safeboxes, or trigger electric traps to catch unarmed victims!

Arm yourself! Hoard bullets, medicines, and enhancers. Craft powerful weapons, get unique equipment from airdrop boxes, and unlock mutation powers! Use your wits and reflexes in the deadliest fights to carve a bloody path out of chaos!

By introducing a lot of random encounter events, the game builds an environmental storytelling mechanism of new-weird tales. Check them to uncover the true secrets behind Mistery. In the future, new stories will be released with new mechanics, anomalies, characters, maps, and more.

Unplayable. After selecting Language and Region game just hangs and eventually pops up a Login Error and then becomes unresponsive. Will be requesting a refund.
I saw it for a dollar and said why not...well it doesn't work unless you are in the "Chinese Master Server" as all the other servers are down (US, EU, SA, Asia...) No one is playing obviously...Discord is empty and nothing from the devs...like paying $1 for a game like this is a rip-off hah. This game needs to be blocked by Steam, no one should be allowed to buy this.
MISTERY, developed and published by Game Frontier, is a multiplayer survival horror experience that attempts to fuse cooperative gameplay with social deduction, placing equal emphasis on teamwork and paranoia. Set within a fog-choked, decaying facility, the game challenges players not only to survive external threats but also to question the intentions of those fighting alongside them. Its core identity revolves around uncertainty, where trust is fragile, danger is constant, and the greatest threat may not always come from the monsters lurking in the mist. The basic gameplay loop is structured around a day-and-night cycle that dictates the pace and tension of each match. During daylight, players explore the environment in search of resources such as batteries, tools, and components needed to prepare for the coming night. Exploration is deliberately stressful, as visibility is limited by thick fog and the environment itself feels unstable and hostile. Every decision to wander farther from the group carries risk, especially knowing that preparation during the day directly determines survivability once darkness falls. Nighttime is when MISTERY fully leans into survival horror. Hostile entities emerge from the mist and relentlessly assault the group, forcing players to rely on light sources, weapons, and defensive setups to hold them back. These encounters are often chaotic, testing not only reflexes but also coordination and resource management. Batteries become precious, positioning matters, and mistakes can quickly spiral into total collapse. The pressure created during these moments is one of the game’s strongest elements, as it reinforces the need for cooperation even while suspicion quietly grows. The social deduction aspect is where MISTERY distinguishes itself from standard cooperative horror games. Hidden among the group are alternates—players who have been corrupted and secretly work against the team. These individuals may appear helpful at first, but their true nature eventually reveals itself, often at the worst possible moment. This mechanic introduces a psychological layer to every interaction, as players must constantly evaluate behavior, communication, and timing. A poorly timed mistake or an unexplained absence can quickly spark accusations, leading to mistrust and fractured teamwork. Class-based roles add another layer of structure and strategy. Each character archetype offers a specific utility that can influence the outcome of a match, whether through combat effectiveness, support abilities, or resource efficiency. Team composition matters, and success often depends on leveraging each role effectively rather than relying on raw firepower alone. This encourages communication and planning, reinforcing the cooperative foundation even as social tension simmers beneath the surface. The environment itself is more than just a backdrop. Functional locations such as control rooms, cameras, safes, and electrical systems offer tactical advantages and opportunities for surveillance or defense. Randomized events and encounters help keep matches from feeling overly predictable, adding variety and unpredictability to exploration. However, while the setting is atmospheric and unsettling, the deeper lore behind the mist and the facility remains relatively vague, leaving much of the world’s story implied rather than explicitly explored. Despite its strong concept, MISTERY struggles with execution in several areas. Technical issues such as performance drops, clunky controls, and occasional instability can disrupt immersion, particularly during high-stress moments when responsiveness matters most. Localization and presentation also show rough edges, with dialogue and text sometimes lacking the polish needed to fully convey tension or emotional weight. These issues can undermine the atmosphere the game works so hard to establish. Another challenge lies in its reliance on a healthy multiplayer population. MISTERY’s design shines brightest with a full group of players, where social deduction and group dynamics can fully unfold. When player counts are low or matchmaking struggles to fill lobbies, the experience can feel diluted, as smaller groups reduce both the tension and unpredictability that define the game’s identity. This makes the experience highly dependent on timing, region, and community activity. Overall, MISTERY is a game driven by a compelling idea rather than flawless execution. Its blend of cooperative survival and hidden betrayal creates moments of genuine tension, where fear stems as much from human behavior as from supernatural threats. While technical shortcomings and underdeveloped narrative elements hold it back from reaching its full potential, the foundation is strong and memorable. For players who enjoy social deduction, atmospheric horror, and unpredictable multiplayer experiences—especially when played with friends—MISTERY offers a uniquely stressful and engaging journey into distrust, survival, and uncertainty. Rating: 6/10
I had hopes for this game but i can tell you know that this game is Dead and feels terrible. The movement the combat and the mechanics feel ruched and unpolishes. There has been no upadate's and no communication. Usually when a game drops this low after a while if it comes with an explanation as to why the price has dropped people may think its re-launching and getting updates. Its not. This is just a last ditch attempt to make some money. Avoid this game untill they start to update and most importantly... Start to communicate again with its community... Its a shame but I am refunding as its 99p that can be invested into something better. Dont let how the game looks fool you like it did to me. It is not good and Radio silent. It has not even added English to It's UI. Not GOOD
MISTERY — A Game Full of Potential That Falls Short

🎮 Introduction MISTERY, developed by Game Frontier, presents itself as a dark and atmospheric experience packed with mystery and tension. From the very first moments, it builds intrigue and sets expectations high. Unfortunately, while the concept is strong, the execution struggles to keep up. 🎮 Gameplay Highlights At its core, the gameplay blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and tense sequences effectively. Some mechanics show genuine creativity and thoughtful design. However: ❌ Inconsistent controls during critical moments ❌ Clunky interaction system ❌ Uneven pacing with repetitive segments There are moments of real tension 🔥, but they are often followed by slower sections that break immersion. 🎨 Graphics, Soundtrack & Immersion Visually, MISTERY does several things right. The art direction is solid, and the environments successfully create a sense of isolation and suspense. ⭐ Strengths: Well-crafted lighting Detailed environments Cohesive atmospheric design 🎧 The soundtrack stands out as one of the game’s strongest elements. It enhances tension and significantly improves immersion. That said, performance issues and occasional visual bugs hurt the overall experience. 📈 Difficulty & Learning Curve The difficulty itself isn’t unfair — but the progression feels uneven. Slow and under-explained beginning Sudden spikes in puzzle complexity Unclear objectives at times Instead of challenging the player naturally, it sometimes creates avoidable frustration. 🔥 What Makes It Addictive (Despite Its Flaws) Even with its issues, MISTERY manages to: Deliver genuinely tense moments Offer engaging puzzles Maintain curiosity about what happens next There is a solid foundation here. The game simply needed more polish. 🧩 Final Verdict MISTERY is not a bad game — far from it. It has personality, atmosphere, and strong conceptual ideas. However, technical issues, pacing problems, and design inconsistencies prevent it from reaching its full potential. 👉 Recommended only for genre fans who can tolerate technical flaws and rough edges. With updates and refinement, it could become a truly memorable experience.
