A well-made indie game, an autobattler like Super Auto Pets but with an Octopath Traveler HD2D aesthetic. Multiplayer gives a variety of teams and seems to balance the challenge well. Lots to digest in the campaign as well, with a journal and medals for completionists. At the price point, this can't be beat
Game of the year? No. Game of my heart? Yes. I love Mirror Throne. The strategy of picking your units, the ultimate showdowns against your friends online in battles to the death, the worldbuilding of the Mirror Throne... this game is very gaming. 11/10 archer x priestess when? uwu owo
This is a great game, I especially love the item Bomos Donut whoever thats named after sounds like a great guy. Still trying to grind out the trinket myself but from what I've heard about the donut it sounds like a great trinket and really just brings the game together. Highly recommend this game.
Followed the development and played over a 100 hours of the demo. It's a fun auto battler / rogue lite that kept me trying quite a few different synergies that felt rewarding when pulled off. There is a pseudo multiplayer mode called Arena that I spent the vast majority of my time in. As with most strategy games, there is a "meta" of units that were specifically designed to work off of each other that seems too good especially when combined with certain items. I'm looking at you Double Crossbow. If I had any criticisms it might be that the meta units seem too good and the units that are meant to counter them don't seem to do the job well enough with the limited spaces in a group. My experience has been that it is best to ignore counter play units and make the strongest team you can based on some good ol' RNG. All in all, it's a fun game and I have enjoyed booting it up time and time again.
I needed some warming up with the title at first (mostly do to the artstyle I guess). But once I warmed up to it... the 1h I played the game went by preeeety quickly :D love it! Will keep playing
Fun Indie game! Pretty quick to learn and then the game becomes finding the synergies that will allow your team to grow in strength. The Arena Mode where you go against the teams made by other players is a lot of fun. I haven't tried the main campaign yet, but definitely will be, along with playing more arena.
Really addicting to keep trying builds in arena! Fun game, great price, good time.
Love the game. The arena mode especially is lots of fun, but I'll keep working on beating the campaign. I've only just begun to explore the synergies that are possible, but the progression for new players is very satisfying already.
Ok, I've played enough to have a legit opinion. Here's the thing. Great ideas... Meh execution. The core gameplay is good and fun. But the classes and especially items are woefully imbalanced. Not to mention the staging imbalances. The first elite is usually 2-3 stages into the first stage. It's impossible. Can't be done as far as I can tell. Some classes are basically useless, including very high tier ones like the one that does a 20% damage free attack. Or the guy that gets half the defense of the one behind him for free. All in all a good game. The campaign needs to be massively expanded. Classes need to be completely reworked by in large and balancing needs a ton of work, but I had fun so, thumbs up. Also... -There shouldn't be draws. Win or dead. -Money should carry over between camps. -You shouldn't lose all your Jewels that you can use at the beginning of the campaign if you quit. -Max level Poisoners are crazy OP on enemy teams. As are Arbalists. -Always start with a priestess in the front with a saboteur behind her, a soldier behind him an archer behind him and an oath keeper behind her and you'll win every time as long as you select most of the important relics. Which should be obvious fairly immediately. -Always take Armor Piercing items.
Fun game! Takes a few rounds to get familiar with the units and figuring out how to spend the coins the best way.
