You've been exiled to The Mirk - an unforgiving swampland where every step could be your last. You must constantly make choices: what paths to take, which tree to shelter under, what beasts to engage or avoid, what items to bring into the darkness of dungeons, and what treasures to leave behind.

About
..:: A Turn-Based Survival RPG ::..
Each turn, you must make choices - Spend your Actions Points well.
The swamp might overwhelm you, or harden your survival instincts.
While nature itself will be a challenge, the foes you encounter will be just as formidable.
The combat will be unique and puzzle-like. Weapons will have different attack patterns and effects.
Nights are cold and dangerous. A well-planned camp and enough firewood will increase your chances of survival.
The Mirk is a living place. You will create paths, set up camps, discover ancient ruins and mysteries, all while meeting unique characters and beings.
This game features:
Survival mechanics: Hunger, Focus/Tiredness, Energy and Warmth.
Classic RPG mechanics with skills, abilities, and a wide variety of items, armor and gear. The survival mechanics will play a large part here as well: Your steel chestplate will be great for combat, but not for climbing or keeping warm. Skills will allow for a variety of playstyles: from foraging the land, brewing and selling potions, hunting, exploring and looting, to trading, etc.
Randomly generated terrain, creating unique playthroughs while still integrating handcrafted location, characters and events.
A unique world with interesting lore, enemies, discoveries, and an eerie atmosphere.
Freedom of choice: An optional main story with a decent amount of challenges and quests.
Lastly: This game is under development - details, screenshots and videos will added and/or changed.
Please note: This game is meant to be challenging. You are expected to lose many times, and it will take time to learn how to survive. Dungeons will not be amusement rides designed for the player, but dangerous trials that demand careful preparation. To sum it up: Warding off the darkness with your last dying torch won't be easy — but it should be memorable.

This game is a awsome! It might no be for everyone, but for people that like survival, turn based RPG's it's gonna be a treasure. This is still EA, but this one person team already has pushed two updates with their bugged fixes included.
eXCESSIVE MICRO-MANAGEMENT, AND i'M A ccrpg FAN.
This is a classic RPG in every way from a dev who clearly likes and enjoys them. But it has some more modern and innovative elements as well: an interesting combat system and a comprehensive survival system. And this isn't bolted on to follow a trend, it is complementary to the game world and background and makes sense. The combat is not something I've seen before but it works and is still easy to figure out. Healing fits into the same system as well. The pixel art graphics are pretty good and more detailed than normal. It's not going to win any awards, but it's nice to look at and they are serviceable and fit the game well. The real star is an interesting and unusual game biome that challenges the player to navigate and learn to master. Is the game perfect? No. But it's good and priced reasonably for the length and enjoyment. And since it's mainly done by a single developer that enjoys his own game, there is a constant trickle of development and improvements. I hope he can continue to improve and even add onto it until it meets his expectations. Because that will be a game RPG enthusiasts will enjoy a lot. Try the demo first to see if you appreciate it as well. But it is not an easy start by design, so take that into consideration.

The Demo shows off 90% of the game loop. If you enjoy that this is an easy sell.
Mirklurk scratches a very particular kind of itch. The nostalgia hits almost as hard as a Cave Troll. I first tried the demo some months back and set the game down while I waited for updates and thankfully, Mirklurk came across my feed again recently. I am LOVING it! The gameplay -can- take some time to get a handle on, especially juggling needs and stamina. However, the game is rewarding as heck when you grow and overcome previously insurmountable obstacles! And the save feature triggers JUST often enough to not cause a ragequit! 😆 Seriously, if you enjoy survival games with engaging storyline and interesting worldbuilding, give Mirklurk a go! Every Step Matters!! 🔥✨💖
Very good challenging game that focuses on survival through any means necessary. Great solo dev very quick to fix bugs and push out new updates
Every Step leads to your death.
Game cranks for anyone thats played neo scavenger. Maximum brain power before every move.
Slow burn even on Easy, due to heavy rain and slips, but very fun and satisfying survival mechanics. 44h spent on just this version of EA and I still haven't done Journal Entry 25 (constant distractions with looting and selling, hehe )
Truly a hidden gem. Undoubtedly not built for mass-market appeal, but that's what makes it so good to those who are attracted to this kind of thing - its unyielding commitment to its design goals. The art work is beautiful, the gameplay is delicious, and the mechanics are unique and deep. If you like punishing, slow games, I can't recommend this enough. It definitely has some polish that needs to be done, but the dev is active, consistent, and listens to feedback from the community. These are the kinds of games I want to see being supported by the community more.
