Mini Golf Aeons

[h3] Очень слабенький VR-гольф. [/h3] Игра испытывает сильную нехватку физических свойств: во-первых, сами удары, импульс от них не ощущается нормальным, и не поддается адекватному контролю. Во-вторых, мячи, они предпочитают жить собственной жизнью, зачастую просто недокатываясь или останавливаясь на склоне, где по всей логике они должны были бы еще прокатиться сколько-то сантиметров/метров/километров. И да, будьте добры все кроме первой локации докупить.

The game has great potential, but needs a bit more work to truly shine. It must take some guts making a new minigolf VR game, as this genre is heavily dominated by Walkabout Minigolf. But Walkabout Minigolf is phoneVR, designed for incredibly slow phone gpus (Adreno 650 phone gpu in the Quest 2's XR2 SoC), while Mini Golf Aeons is designed for high-end VR. This you can easily see in some of the great textures, but it's still behind Walkabout Minigolf in the design of courses and the lighting. Of course Walkabout Minigolf has many devs spending years milking the ultraslow Adreno 650 to perfection, while the devs behind Mini Golf Aeons probably has much more limited ressources. The water quality and refelctions are much better than Walkabout Minigolf: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3003845619 The courses would look much better adding dynamic shadows and sunlight. Maybe some 3D grass here and there? Also would be nice with more courses and more obstacles on the courses - the present courses are a bit too plain and too easy for my taste. Both left and right hand is supported for holding the golf club. Snap turn but not smooth is currently supported. You'll hear a tone with the ball is still, and then have to hold the trigger to hit the ball. I would prefer if we did not have to hold the trigger to hit the ball - and if we could be able to move across the courses to take in and enjoy the nice environments, right now you cannot move much away from the ball. I got solid 90 fps with Index res 400% and using Ultra graphics with my RTX 3090, you do not need a RTX 2070 for this game - I'm sure a GTX 1060 will work too. The game supports both native SteamVR and Oculus/Meta drivers, so users of Meta hmds will get optimal performance. The game works perfectly with both Valve Index and my Rift CV1. For now this game is 7/10 to me, also considering the low price. 8/10 if we get some dynamic shadows to add more life and realism to the surroundings.
