Very fun and cool game :)
It's so good!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is the main mystery to solve but there is also an underlying mystery of what is even real and who is the mindcop. There is so much to do and see it's impossible to do all of it in one run, so there is replayability, and the animations are awesome and cute.
I am terrible at this game, but it is very good. I wish I were good at it. WHY??? WHY SHOULD A**** DIE???
Have you ever played Psychonauts but wished the protagonist was a forty year old cop who pretended he was a cool teen? Yeah me neither but this game made me realize that such a combo makes a fantastic story! The murder is a very grim one and when you go through people’s memories be they lies or the truth you start to realize how compelling the cast of characters are who are shaped by forgotten secrets and generational trauma. Not only is the story and character's great the way you investigate the murder beyond mind surfing is very fun way to do a detective game. where there is a lot of things to investigate but the vast majority of things are useless information so you have to plan on what leads look promising and act with you gut instead of mindlessly pouring over every piece of trash in a home. The music is the icing on the cake which is slick and adds flavour to every encounter, with the music during the mind surf mini game being the most stand out. Highly recommended.
yeah
Forgot to review this game when I played it last summer, but I have thought about it frequently and fondly since then. One of my favorite detective games ever, and I play a lot of detective games. It puts a fresh spin on the common Psychic Detective trope, and the time mechanic adds a sense of urgency and replayability. You will never see everything on a single playthrough, and you may struggle to get the killer right as well. My guess was right, but I lost anyway because I didn't accuse the suspect in time, mostly because I expected there to be more concrete evidence, but like the Mindcop, you will have to rely somewhat on intuition in this case. I love the art style, the map is small but well-crafted, the music is fantastic, especially during the mindsurfing minigames, and I even added a few of the songs to my main playlist. The minigame itself isn't the kind of thing I usually enjoy, and occasionally felt repetitive due to the number of times you have to do it, but it wasn't enough to bring down my overall experience at all. Outside of the minigame, mindsurfing is possibly my favorite mechanic in a detective game ever. It's so fun exploring characters' memories and trying to piece together which ones are real, especially when multiple characters have conflicting memories of the same event. The characters themselves are the best part of the game, each with their own secrets, tragedies, and motivations. They all feel very real and you will probably be suspicious of most of them at one point or another. Mindcop and Linda are probably the best buddy cop duo in all of gaming and I would LOVE to see a bunch of standlone sequels about them solving unrelated crimes. In fact, remembering how much fun I had with it, I think I might have to do another replay. Developers, if you see this, sequel please. I need more Mindcop and Linda yesterday. (Note: My play time is for some reason showing up as 1 hour, but it's actually almost 11, which is for about two and a half playthroughs.)
Great story with good music and fun mechanics. The story is a little short(like our hero) and left me wanting more. Here's hoping for a Mindcop 2!
Amazing puzzle game
Good detective game utilizing a time limit to discourage you from simply checking every little thing so you are encouraged to follow leads and go about the investigation more methodically to get the most relevant clues (thought you can simply replay the game as well and remember where the good stuff was). Seemed like there was almost too much to go through as there were many bits that I found I missed when I looked up more stuff after I was done, but I guess thats just allowing you different ways to get to the truth.
