The game is completely broken. I can't even finish one race because after a few minutes the game crashes with an Unreal Engine "Fatal Error". This doesn't happen sometimes it happens every time after nearly the same gametime has passed. How could this be released in such state? I thought it was in early access before. Shouldn't they see those game breaking bugs?
Sorry ... i really bought it for my Commodore Nostalgia ... but since release no patches, no updates, no achievements. Just Dead. This Game ist fun, its okay but it has lots of flaws that have to be addressed and fixed.
jogo todo bugado, praticamente injogavel. alem do controle das naves nao ser responsivo.
A solid entry to the AG Racing genre, it's a lot of fun to play, good value for money, deserves more attention. However, it has issues that really need fixing and some other improvements.
Graphics, Performance and Stability.
The graphics look very nice, even in medium graphic settings. There's nothing really negative I can say about it. The performance is what you would expect from a UE5 title. For me, it runs well on medium graphics settings. Runs OK on high graphic settings. It still needs a bit more optimisation. I also found using FSR (not DLSS) boosts my FPS significantly. I play this on my 3.5 year old gaming laptop. The game has issues with "Unreal Fatal Error" crashes. According to crash logs, it's caused by the Rendering Hardware Interface Thread (RHI Thread) and it started happening since an update in mid July 2025. Switching to medium graphics settings seems to fix the issue. A theory, maybe the fatal error crash only happens on Nvidia GPUs because a user named "tomnic" in my discussion post no longer had the issue when they switched to an AMD GPU (9070XT).
Physics and Controls.
The physics feel really nice. The controls are responsive and the ships are grippy like Redout 2. This game also has a great sense of speed. Though sometimes, the ship will disconnect from certain areas of the track and it will somehow send you back to a previous section of track. I feel like the collisions have improved since earlier versions. I feel like I don't ping-pong off the walls as much and collisions with other ships are less Redout 1-esque (you immediately rebound off them). You still collide with the floor on sharp inclines (especially with certain ships i.e. Aegis Tech Team), sometimes, it sends you back to a previous section of track. The controls. On Controller, A to Accelerate, B to Brake and X to activate Xtreme Speed (Boost). There's no way to rebind the controls. I appreciate the Auto Accelerate feature though since it's hard to press the A and X face buttons at the same time.
Track Design.
Track design for the most part is pretty solid. It feels a lot like Redout 2. Long (maybe too long for some tracks (Therium 33, I'm looking at you)), plenty of rollercoaster elements, no jumps though. Missed opportunity to add underwater sections. Some tracks though seem a little empty. Could use some more unique scenery pieces. Also, maybe make 1 track from each environment a nighttime setting (like Neo Akari) 2 of the tracks in the most elusive environment, Khaldera (Iron Mesa and esp. Saltrise Basin) have a constant narrow Ziggy zag section which 1, is bad track design, 2, it wrecks the flow of the game and 3, it's challenging to navigate (last point could be a good thing). I would make it shorter and maybe add an underwater section in Saltrise Basin. I would add something else for Iron Mesa.
Gameplay.
This game has single races, time trials, local multiplayer (split screen), grand prix and career mode. Unfortunately, one of the tracks (Rustvale aka Shardline Ridge) is bugged. No other racers spawn in (when they should) and you play with a specific ship as a time trial with an infinite number of laps. You can't progress in career mode or a grand prix when you get this track. The planet "Khaldera" doesn't appear in the single race and time trial menus, it only appears in grand prix and career. Haven't looked in Split Screen yet. This game has a good selection of ships though some ships could be a bit too overpowered/underpowered compared to others. This game features powerups like your usual rockets, mines, turbo and shield. Then it has unique ones like Kamikaze, an explosive that charges and then explodes, disabling opponents around you or backfires if no ones around, a virus that gives you infinite boost but pixelates your screen when it runs out, unless you touch an opponent. It also has an autopilot that travels really fast (super satisfying on ziggy zag sections). Sometimes when it wears off, it sends you flying off the track. The AI needs work. Sometimes, they got caught in a particular spot on the track and start driving in circles. Other people have mentioned "AI rubberbanding". Also, the difficulty scales depending on frame rate and/or graphic settings. I feel like the difficulty needs to be more consistent. I found the game to be easier on medium settings compared to high settings.
GUI/UI and Audio.
I like the look of the menu, looks very retro. The GUI while racing is an improvement over the old one in earlier versions (the minimap wasn't working properly before) I noticed that in the grand prix mode, the images for Therium 33 and Caustic Docks are flipped (what looks like one is actually the other). I like the music in the game. It's got retro vibes and it suits the AG Racing Genre. It also sounds similar to F-Zero GX. I haven't played any of the F-Zero games but have listened to some songs from F-Zero GX on YouTube. It could use some more sound effects (boost meter filling up, the narrator saying "Kamikaze" and "Hellstorm" (since they're missing), maybe some wind and whoosh sounds). I also noticed that a couple sounds don't play either sometimes or on certain tracks. That's the Lap Complete sound and The Countdown. Overall, I recommend this game, despite its issues.
#MillenniumRunners #CommodoreIndustries #OverTheGame #RacingGame #IndieGame
Can't play it in its current state, keeps crashing.
The game shows promise but it needs major optimization. Playing it on Medium instead of High/Ultra/Epic makes the game playable to a point. However, I been noticing a bug on the game that brings me to a specific stage within the title. No other racers. Different vehicle than the one I was playing with previous and no 3 Lap counter. Very strange bug. Played a bit of Grand Prix that I never got to finish due to the bug
A jogabilidade é simples, direta e funcional.
For its Price it has enough fun packed into it and it takes me back to wipeout on the psp. Gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_GfZgZfQDg https://www.tiktok.com/@birdiethewise/video/7602984624192556302
