About
Midnight Snack is a short and surreal first-person horror game where you wander through an eerie forest using the dials of a microwave.
Alternative and experimental control scheme.
Retro/Pixelart 3D visuals.
Short and sweet, the game takes about 30 minutes to complete.
The controls are integrated into the interface itself, modeled after the dials of a conventional microwave. The bottom dial controls the camera direction, while the top dial determines how long the player moves. Once the time has been set, the controls are locked until the top dial stops turning, so be careful.
To interact with the dials, only the mouse is required.
The player must use these unconventional controls to navigate a strange environment in search of a snack, avoiding various obstacles.
The game takes place in the protagonist's recurring nightmare.
In this nightmare, the protagonist wakes up hungry in the middle of the night, viewing the world from the perspective of a microwave.
Before reaching the kitchen, he must navigate through a dark and eerie setting, even being attacked within the dream manifestations of his guilt.
Finally, upon reaching the kitchen and opening the microwave on the table, he will find an unpleasant surprise.

A deeply original, experimental game, with an eerie environment that made me shiver more than once despite being very short. From the same devs of "Control, I'm not coming back", it's free and worth your time.

Some of the scariest things that can happen when you are being chased by someone are not only who is chasing you but if you are finding it difficult to manoeuvre. In such a case in this game you are handicapped by being forced to use a microwave switch to control how much distance you are moving and turning, but you can't do both at the same time, so you have to mentally calculate how many steps you are taking. This is while you are trying to escape from something or someone slowly but surely trying to get the jump on you. The game was a surprisingly short-lived scary experience. I was hoping it would have lasted as long as my adrenaline would have expired. Cool idea; anyone who wants to make a horror game could take some notes from this.

The monster itself isn’t physically scary, but the sound of its footsteps always feels close, which really raises the tension and gets ur heart racing (ㅎᴗㅎᵕ) On another note, the walking mechanic is very unique and a must-try experience! What's more, it's free! U can also easily get all achievements under 1h!
Very short, but a unique way to play around with the controls
It is free, it is deeply weird, and it wraps up exactly when it needs to without overstaying its welcome. Absolutely worth a download if you want a tight, highly unique indie experience.
mmmmmm microwave would definitely recommend to others who are also microwave fans
It isn't terrible, but it's way too short and gets boring fast. The atmosphere is decent and the idea has potential, but the game ends before it really does anything interesting. Feels more like a demo than a full game.
Прикольная пугалка, короткая, но довольно хорошо держит нагнетающую атмосферу. Быть человеком микроволновкой классно
