You find yourself in a darkened maze at the stroke of midnight. But the wolves howling, the blades sharpening and the crows calling out tell you that you are not alone. The only question that remains is how many times will you die before you stumble upon the exit to this fiendish construction.

About
Midnight Murder Maze is a top-down game about finding your way through a pitch-black and very deadly maze. Expect to leave a trail of blood and bodies as you tirelessly search for the exit.
In the late 1800's the sociopathic Contessa Desmodonia von Macelar built the maze and regularly ran her peasants through it... for her own demented goals. It is your job to guide your character through the maze searching for the exit while at the same time dodging lethal traps and occasionally picking up the few bits of help scattered around. Like any good predator, the Contessa surely loved to play with her victims.
Midnight Murder Maze includes:
Absolutely unique mazes, randomly generated for each run.
5 varying levels of difficulty that each changes:
Maze dimensions from 20x20 up to a gargantuan 100x100
Number of deadly traps
Number of useful 'trinkets' that the Contessa left for you
Save system so that you can pick up a longer run later
A truly unique score-keeping method
A final 'brag screen' that you can use to challenge your friends to run your same maze and attempt to beat your score.
The Maze is the first published game by Rum Shack Studios, a small (4 person) team of game players, designers and dreamers who have big plans for the future. We hope you enjoy it and look forward to hearing your comments!

This game has a really unique take on maze crawler games. I especially like how you can really tell the difference between the level difficulties. Just a fun game that you can kick back and relax with.
Midnight Murder Maze is a top-down survival horror experience where the only certainty is death... eventually. You'll navigate a seemingly endless number of mazes, each varying in size and difficulty, and packed with lethal traps at every turn. Every step is a risk. Every path could be your last. The gameplay is simple yet tense, with a captivating pull that keeps drawing you back. You will (probably) die a lot, learn a little, and somehow… you'll crave just one more run.
I’ve played for about 1 hour and I’m hooked. The random mazes keep each run fresh, and the power-ups add just enough strategy to make you want to explore every corner. Definitely challenging, but super rewarding when you finally find the exit.
Super fun game! The right balance of frustrating and rewarding. It's fun to jump between trying to get a deathless run and trying to trigger every trap possible. Lighting and audio add to the atmosphere to give off a tense vibe - but not too scary so suitable for a range of ages. I've enjoyed playing this & would recommend to anyone who enjoys similar :)
A really unique and creative indie game. I love the spooky vibe, the combination of 2D and 3D art and the dark humour sprinkled throughout. Awesome!
Honestly one of the most unique indie games I've played this year. Midnight Murder Maze takes something as basic as a maze and makes it terrifying. The random generation keeps runs unpredictable, and the traps are genuinely creative. What I like most is the tension every corner feels dangerous, and the sound design adds to that perfectly.
This game surprised me. It looks simple, but the maze design, creepy atmosphere, and brutal traps make it way more intense than expected. It's the type of game where you die, laugh, then immediately hit ‘restart' to prove yourself.
Beginning to think the exit may be a lie. So many bodies piling up as grim reminders of all my failed attempts at escape. Highly recommend playing in the dark with the sound up to emphasize the dark, claustrophobic feel. So far my not-so-successful strategy has consisted of sneak, sneak, watch for traps, sneak, sneak, spooky noise, oh crap run!, ...aaand I disarm another trap with my face. But hey, at least the wolf didn't get me this time. That's my only rule: run from the wolves immediately, everything else can mostly be avoided after some practice. Lots and lots of practice. 5 out of 5 buzzsaws - would impale again.
Midnight Murder Maze captures that mix of puzzle-solving and horror that I didn't know I needed. The difficulty scaling is solid — I started on easy, but by the time I tried Extreme I was sweating bullets. Can't wait to see what else gets added before full release
Pretty solid gameplay, at time of review isnt really finished but i definitely see this to be a decent game in the future worth some timeto play, excited to see where this game goes.
