Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 15.43/day in the week to Sep 2 → 19.29/day in the week after.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Played this immediately after finishing mgs3, so that game is very fresh in my mind. Right off the bat, you obviously know that the story is identical to the old game, which is great because that game ranks highly in the list of best games ever made. Difficulty wise, both are essentially the same as well, except crouch walking makes things so much faster. The new controls also simplify the game in a way that I found really enjoyable too. Don't get me wrong, in mgs3 the controls became second nature, giving you direct feedback. This game doesn't exactly give you the same sort of feedback, but it does grow on you. The left-trigger draw button is great, but the dpad equip button doesn't feel as intuitive as the right/left trigger equip in the older games. The result is a less immediate response feeling and a less fulfilling on-the-fly changing. That being said, the controls are so much more fluid and standardized that I never felt it was a draw after the first 5ish encounters. I really liked the cqc notifications, those are substantially nicer in this game and made hold-ups far less of a guessing game. Graphically this game is GORGEOUS and well worth experiencing again, although the original mgs3 still has such a distinct and evocative visual design that it's hard to say this could replace it. Both are amazing, powerful stories. This is a 10/10 just like the original. And you should play both. 1st playthrough on mgs3: 20 hours, mgsDELTA: 10 hours.
A soul-less demake of the original that will have you craving the original for the entire game. It begs the question...why bother? I gave up on The Pain boss fight. It is a lot harder, and for all the wrong reasons. They made the genius decision to separate Snake's barrel roll and crouch into two separate buttons with no option to go back to the old set-up, so you will be fighting that for the entire game. The best I could do is setting the barrel roll for the original button and the action button back to triangle, but the action button is what now used for swim, so you have to tap triangle to swim? Snake is also a lot slower with much longer animations to do things. The swimming and diving controls are atrocious now. Instead of a quick barrel roll into the water, and swimming quickly like he used to, you either get a overly long animation (that gets you hit) or sloppily falling off the edge (and possibly grabbing the ledge). The bullets from the tranquilizer gun don't seem to register half of the time, and I'm not sure if that's because they added a new "curve" to the bullet or if because the hit-box is broken. Half the time it seems like you can get a head-shot and the second one doesn't register because of the "I just got shot animation" which was not in the original. It's just frustrating. Another fun thing is they decided to make it so you can see the item model for each item in the menu screen. Sounds fun, right? Well, they lag the inventory and slow it down so going into the item menu is a chore. Speaking of the item menu, why the hell did they make the quick menu on the directional buttons? With again, no option to change it back for legacy players? The button changes are nonsensical and doing it "to appease to new players" is a lame excuse for something that could be fixed easily. What's a modern video games with ugly ass realistic visuals and ugly human faces? No anime aesthetic here. Just 100% uncanny. I like the original and played it many times but this is trash. And I realized I'm not having any fun...so why bother?

Phantom Pain
