Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 15.43/day in the week to Sep 2 → 19.29/day in the week after.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Played the OG on PS2 and it was amazing. Getting to play this again, but as an updated version, was fantastic.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Its a little woke but what game isn't these days. Besides that, it was a fun playthrough, had good writing, and a good ending. Kind of funny that Snake loses his right eye yet keeps shooting his guns right handed for the entire game. They could have hired a consultant to tell them how dumb and goofy it is to shoot right shoulder while using your left eye. I guess Snake did learn all of his skills from a woman after all... In 1964...
A'ight that's it; I'm done. If you're a MGS nut who's played MGS3, you're in for a treat. This is exactly what fans expect when a game is remade / remastered. I only have one niggle (or gripe, if you will), and we'll get to that in a sec. I just want to say that the hours you see on my profile do not represent the game's content. I spent about 20-25 hours getting everything, barring a few of the titles. All the secret vids, all the secret cutscenes based on your choices, etc. I spent the rest of those hours you see doing "permadeath" runs to get my "Foxhound" title. It took so long not out of complexity, but because of the Torture Room guard (you'll hate him too when grinding for your FH title), and because of your retarded, blonde accomplice. (Not retarded as in the derogatory way... well, that one, too) I also did one more "Crocodile" run after just to see if I could complete a run faster if I killed everything that moved without an alert. (Nope. Not even close.) And this ties into my niggle: I feel I paid less for the MGS5 GZ and PP combo, and I got way more game for it. Don't get me wrong, It's a Kojima game; Quality over quantity, and he loves little hidden tidbits you gotta dig for everywhere. Every little thing is superb about the game. Not a single bug or crash either. And I get "his highness", the US president has the world by the financial balls, so prices on everything have gone up. But this may be the one time I feel I paid more simply because it is a Kojima game. Still, no take-backsies. I love the game. I'm simply a little saturated with it at the moment.
Merits: ▪ An epic spy tale wrapped in an alternate historical setting that makes it more believable ▪ Graphically very impressive and a massive upgrade over the original ▪ Cutscenes are directed as if it was a movie, very cinematic ▪ Fantastic voice acting cast and performances Flaws: ▪ Un-optimised by default, requires tweaking engine.ini settings to get the best results ▪ Sound levels are not normalised during cutscenes, making the historical scenes having lower volume ▪ The original theme score has been re-recorded and changed for the worse in my opinion ▪ Extra skins behind paywall Verdict: Wow, even after so many years, this story still hits hard. This is the beginning of the epic Metal Gear saga, setting up threads for later titles. What a masterpiece. Gameplay is the usual, with an added option for more modernised controls. First person works well and adds another layer. The graphics are impressive, but resource heavy, requiring frame generation for smooth frames, as well as changing settings outside of the game (otherwise the performance is horrible). Once the tweaks are applied, things look good, performance is smooth and solid. Love it! Rating: ★★★★★ - Amazing
