A game for the ones we lost on the way. Memento Mori is a surreal walking simulator that combines a minimalistic art style and a show don't tell story, focused on dealing with loss.

Hiçbir şey anlamadığım bomboş bir yürüme simülasyonu. (A pointless walking simulation that I understand nothing about.)
its a nice walking sim with a great style, i could stare at the clouds all day. do give it a try if youve got about 15mins

I'm sure its a fun game but I can't play it because it doesn't recognize my mouse clicks as mouse clicks. Literally can't interact with the tv. It would be a lot better if there was an option to remap your controls
This review is a step by step of my experience with Memento Mori. Playthrough 1: -Sigh very slightly at Ava Maria on loop, but it works so whatever. -See spooky ghost guy under bed, but his animation reminds me of people using the gateways in Sliders. That gets a chuckle out of me. -Get to mountain, but the controls lock up so I can't move. Initially not sure if this is intended, cause...ya know, art game. But other people tell me no, it shouldn't do that. -Look to stop game, get told there is no save function because the game is short. -Have some very impolite thoughts about devs who do this, I believe I thought the words "art devs", "anal fissure" and "rhinoceros tusk", but it's all honestly kind of a caffeine induced blur now. -Have Steam verify download. -Restart. Playthrough 2: -Get first key, open door. -The loop now has a four second wait time between the door opening and the actual level loading. I don't know this and fall off into a gray void, locking up the game. -Close game and spend a few moments remembering that a reboot of Sliders was 'confirmed' three years ago, but seems to be stuck in development hell. -Restart. Playthrough 3: -Speed run time. -Get to mountain....which then despawns during the landing animation, locking up game. -Spend several minutes explaining to my partner why I yelled loud enough to wake the baby. -He didn't buy it, so once again an art game has me in the dog house. -Restart. PLaythrough 4: -Downgrade game two depot version, as suggested by another user. -Speed Run Time: Redeath. -Game crashes when credits start. -Consider the fact that memento mori means "remember you must die". Adding one comma makes it a threat. -Notice achievements unlocked regardless of crash, so we're good. -Banish demon game from my harddrive. 10/10, worth every second, would ponder the warm embrace of death again.
When the game is working it's kind of like playing through a tedious bad dream. Pointless, boring, and derivative of a genre of "trippy" games that trap you in a single location that repeats ad nauseum, which have already been copied into oblivion (P.T., Superliminal, Layers of Fear, etc.) For a 10-15 minute game I really encountered a lot of frustrating technical problems. The object of the game is apparently to answer this incessantly ringing cell phone that shows up multiple times and clicking on it did nothing, so I couldn't complete the game at first. It took me way too long to figure out that you have to click the perfect pixel on the green answer button, which was surprisingly hard to do. The game has poor performance even though it isn't graphically intense, and I also encountered visual effects that I thought were a graphical glitch because of how headache-inducing it looked, but it's possible that it looked like that intentionally (I'm referring to the section right before getting in the elevator).
I was playing for 20 minutes on 3 to 5 FPS before finally giving up. No option to turn resolution or graphics made this pure hell to play. Skipping movement and hardly being able to click any object. These features should have been Day 1 talking about lowering resolution and graphics. Don't recommend this at all. If a game is 20ish minutes long and i can't turn down the resolution or graphics to have a decent playable experience ,i think the game just does not care about low end potato gamers.
Would've be better if it wasn't at 2 fps
