This is one of the best RPG maker games. The story is ridiculous but fun. Game mechanics such as learning skills via costumes are both interesting and give incentives to collect them all. There are also many different endings and end game contents to ensure great replay values. Adult contents are all static, but come with varies setups and good voice acting. Overall quality is still good. Story wise, all members in MC’s family have some extraordinary tastes. There must be something wrong with the royal bloodline. Achievements will take several runs to complete. In the first run, most likely you will only get less than half of the achievement. New game + will inherit the levels so subsequent runs are much faster. Endgame achievements do have some difficulty so recommend to do in 3rd run or later. The achievement to get all endings might not be working as intended. Some say you can get it by saving different endings in different slots, but I couldn’t get the achievement this way. In the end, I got the achievement by collecting all six letters in the same save slot and all in true princess difficulty. Took me 7 or 8 runs in total. The game works well in steam deck. It’s better to map a button as keyboard left Ctrl for convenience since it is not in the deck’s default control.
Гарна геймплейно jrpg з чималим світом, наповненим різними ворогами, некоротким сюжетом для зв'язування великої кількості еротичних сцен та багатьма зваблюючими аніме дівками для спостерігання. Якісна еро гра, варта уваги.
Great eroge. Nice art, hilarious dialogue, 6 different endings, and fun to play. So popular that they made a Meltys Quest anime. So once you've beaten the game, there's still a show for you to watch. 🤗

Meltys Quest is an amazing eroge. While not to the level of quality as Karryn's Prison, Meltys Quest is still an amazing experience. It is also the first eroge that was properly localized into English and sold on Steam. Everything about this game was great from start to finish. From Meltys' bubbly personality to the sex scenes, to the side characters that help her along the way. It's still worth experiencing at least once. There's also an official anime adaptation based around one of the endings.
7/10. Touted as something "special" by the H-game community, but in my opinion it was pretty generic RPGMaker stuff. Fine, but nothing to write home about. The amount of costumes were a fun little bonus and they did creative stuff with the skill learning system but in the end it was a single-character turn based RPG so the combat was very limited. Protagonist was fun though, having an actual ditz with a good heart is unique.

Not worth 20$ especially with a glitch that causes a major delay after most battles
Rating: "Good... but," "Melty's Quest" was a game I was very hyped to play. While it came out a while ago (an early Remtairy release), I had never gotten around to it and have heard so many good things. It is considered a classic erotic rpg maker engine game and is beloved by many... unfortunately its possible that this expectation led to my disappointment. Despite that, I didn't give it a more harsh rating due to the fact that its nearly 10 years old and at the time of release I'm sure it was amazing, with not much else like it. I am, after all... late to the party here, its not exactly fair to hold a decade old game up to current competition. Some might disagree with me, but anyway... that's why this is not rated worse. While a good game, one that borders on being the type of game I enjoy most, where the erotic aspects receive as much attention as the non-erotic parts... I found Melty's Quest too shallow in regards to both to grab that brass ring of greatness. Its a classic rpg maker experience with turn based combat, leveling and skills. Included here is also items to acquire for the crafting system, a defeat system (where loosing or giving up leaves Melty to the whims of her enemies) and an outfit system where you change clothing to alter your stats and skills which adds a bit of strategy and gives you some varied eye candy as Melty will change her appearance with each outfit. All of this was appreciated if a bit on the simple side. I enjoyed that while simplistic the crafting system was not too convoluted or difficult to understand and materials where plentiful since you can gather them all again by leaving an area and returning. One issue I have is that the games systems and gameplay loop never drew me in enough and detracted from what could of been a really solid H-game experience. For starters the erotic defeats are often just splash images that alter slightly as the situation progress with dialogue added to explain what is happening. This isn't horrible but since there is no deep erotic aspect to the actual fights (enemies will molest Melty but the only way you know is through some flashing text displayed) or anywhere else to experience spicy content (other than side jobs which are presented the same way) I found this lacking. That said the art of the defeat scenes was good and the sound effects were nice as well but you will more then likely need to experience them through failing on purpose or viewing them in your inventory after winning as this is not a challenging game (all scenes are given to you even if you win which is a nice touch so you don't miss anything). Each monster (or area rather) and boss have their own defeat scene. Despite this the art is very good as is the sounds and writing. I enjoyed Melty's attitude and the humor in the game despite the simplistic story. I liked the art style and the outfits. It gave me something to work for to raise certain attributes in order to wear some of them. The crafting was also rather lack-luster. You find glowing materials while exploring enemy populated areas and pick them up for later use. These items are taken to one of several locations to either renovate and open up areas of the map or to create new outfits or weapons. This is cool but the lack of things to craft and lack of impact once crafting them (you don't see your weapons, each outfit only each teaches one skill and unlocking areas of the map is very linear), in fact this is the main way in which the game manages content by blocking it off with areas you must renovate. It also left me wanting more. I liked the side jobs which were almost like side quests, in order to earn money, raise stats and to get Melty in some rather ridiculous situations in order to view more scenes, this was some of my favorite content of the game and added some nice variety since there isn't much other reason to explore as the game is rather linear. While it didn't bother me much, it should be noted that this game uses a large amount of rpg maker's basic sprites, graphics, visual and sound effects... but it uses them well. Melty's Quest has a decent amount of achievements which range from completion to doing various things in specific situations with specific people. Not many gimmes but plenty here to keep someone busy during the length of their playthrough. There are a few that may take quite a bit of time due to the nature of what they require. I haven't 100 percent it yet and doubt I will. To sum up, I enjoyed the game but it only just managed to eek by with a "Good, but..." rating due the to its superficial nature. I genuinely feel Melty's Quest must of inspired a great many rpg maker games after its inception and I'm sure its place as a classic in the hearts of many is well earned, I was simply disappointed due to having played more recent titles out there using the same engine. A good game, one I recommend to any who would enjoy an erotic and humorous romp through a fantasy world with the main hero being a bratty bimbo, but for me it seems a little lacking. As of the writing of this Melty's Quest does not need a patch (offsite or otherwise) to enjoy its full content.
