Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories

[b]"when you got a problem, pawn it off on somebody else who's standin' around lookin' bored"[/b] 🖤🖤🖤 🟩 charming art and music 🔷 walk and talk 🔴 writing had me underwhelmed [b]vibes:[/b] whimsy mystery [b]loops:[/b] walk around and talk to characters and do little side quests [b]states:[/b] finished, got normal ending, skipped a lot of quests [b]ramblings:[/b] the game has this sense of general cute to it, like, the world and characters are all just kind of whimsical. it's all genuinely sweet goofy and adorable. the art design is wonderful and the world itself is really charming. but the actual writing and dialog and general story just wasn't that interesting, or particularly engaging in any way when it came down to it. i just didn't feel it at all. i only really liked honeydew, and sometimes sorta strong dog, and kitten princess. like i don't know how to describe it other than it just didn't have that spark, i didn't find any of side characters endearing or anything. and talking to those is like the point of the game. [b]verdicts:[/b] this is really mixed for me, my enjoyment started flagging and i kinda had to force myself to finish it. i think this really comes down to whether you like the writing and side characters or not. this is decently crafted, i just didn't really like it that much.
