About
Mega City Parkour is all about exploring a massive Cyberpunk / Sci-Fi city of the future. There is no score, no killing, no quests – only fun exploration.
The detailed center of the city is a little more than 1km2. The surrounding suburbs and industrial areas add an additional 10km2 of explorable area. The city is 100% open and ready to explore immediately.
The player has full control over the weather with 13 weather conditions, as well as the time of day.
You can explore the city with a car, a flying hover-car, ziplines, rope swings, and of course parkour. The parkour abilities include 24 styles of vaulting, mantling, climbing, sliding and, more.
The game requires a good PC to run. With a PC equipped with an RTX-4080 GPU I achieve 50 FPS at 4K resolution on “high” graphics settings, and on a laptop equipped with an RTX-1650Ti GPU I achieve 50 FPS at 1080p resolution on “medium” graphics settings.
The game has instructions in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Russian.

I don't want to be mean, because this is clearly somebody's passion project, but don't buy this. As of right now, it is largely nonfunctional, and the parts that are seem amateurish. The heart and soul of this game is the city. I get the feeling the creator just really liked making cyberpunk cityscapes, and everything else was an afterthought. The city is genuinely cool, some parts more than others, but you still get the feeling that most areas were individually detailed, the kind of thing that doesn't get done unless someone has a passion for detailing. The architecture is also really impressive, there's very few duplicates of large buildings, most of the buildings are unique which you don't often see in games. This was made for the joy of creating it, and that's fine, but I don't think it's a good experience to play. Here's some of my issues (from most to least impact of my opinion):

The city is absolutely lifeless. There's almost no ambient sound or sound effects, nothing really animated except a couple signs and some trains, the entire city feels like a ghost town, and not in an eerie cool way.
The settings reset periodically, meaning if you crank the graphics up to see the pretty scenery, within a few minutes you'll be looking at blurry textures again.
The parkour mechanics are extremely janky, and even when they do work they're clunky and awkward. This honestly feels like one of those parkour character controllers you buy for cheap on the unity asset store. I don't know if it is, it might be hand-made, but its quality is not great, and as previously mentioned, the environment was not really designed to be a game. This means that they don't have the sort of invisible hint blocks that something like Mirror's Edge would have.
I managed to drop through the floor twice, and there's tons of invisible geometry to get stuck on once you leave the main city.
Even when the quality controls were working properly, there's a huge disparity between texture resolutions that can be jarring. One second you're seeing a 4 inch square in HD, then you turn and see a 40ft billboard that looks like a ps1 texture. Same thing with models, some models are insanely detailed, other times you can count the polygons on your fingers.
The game crashed twice for me, both times when trying to crank the video settings back up after they had suddenly turned themselves down for no reason.
The vehicle controls are bad. It's extremely awkward to control.
Performance is surprisingly bad. particularly in the middle of the city. I think this game wasn't optimized much if at all.
This honestly wasn't really an issue for me, I think I'm desensitized at this point, but you can swap between normal size, tiny, and giant models, and the tiny and giant models have more revealing clothing than the main girl. This goes into the "developer's barely disguised fetish" category. Again, didn't really affect my enjoyment, just slightly cringe the first time I saw it.
If you wanted to play this game, I would instead recommend Mirror's Edge (for cyberpunk parkour), Cloudpunk (for cyberpunk hover-car driving), and Dystopika (for cool cyberpunk city vistas). Now for the constructive portion of this review: Developer, if you're reading this, I don't think this was the right way to make use of this environment. If it were me, I'd make the gameplay loop something that involves looking closely at the environment. For example, if it was a phototography game in vein of Pokemon Snap or The Crush House (that's videography but same difference), or something like a free-roaming collect-a-thon or puzzle game. Or, you could lean even harder into the sandbox thing and include more environmental storytelling and just let the player free-cam around observing the daily lives of citizens in this society, or have a community screenshot competition where people just try to take the prettiest screenshots. Regardless, sorting out the sound design is essential, and having some NPCs (even simple ones that do one action each: sleep, sit, meander around, follow a path, converse, etc) would also go a long way if you could manage it. Now, I don't know how much time you spent on the character controller or the car controller, but if those hours had been spent on soundscape design I feel like the city would feel a lot more alive. Parkour works best in simple, blocky environments. Even parkour games that take place in detailed environments, have much simpler collision than the visuals would indicate. I think fundamentally there's just a mismatch where the majority of the effort does not improve the user's experience. The architecture especially is really cool, but I can't help but feel like the process of looking at that architecture is impeded by the gameplay, rather than assisted by it. I feel like an environment like this would be better if it were in a game like gmod or teardown, where there are sandbox toys to play with in the environment. Obviously asking you to implement something like those would be unreasonable, but I still feel this is lacking.
The vehicle controls are hard to control. The character has an issue as it just freezes in place and you cannot run. The discord link for the game is inactive. I have posted a question of where to report bugs. As the state that the game is in currently, I cannot honestly recommend it. Update: The developer has appeared and it looks like the dev is now actively working on the game.
this one needs to stay in the oven longer chief, big fan of your cities skylines content tho
