I played this game after finishing a few open-world titles and needed something challenging yet relaxing. Mechanical Lab surprised me with its smart mechanics and satisfying vehicle-building system.
📝Story/Plot without spoilers:

🔸 Mechanical Lab puts you in control of A17, a lone robot exploring the remains of a forgotten city. You start from a relatively safe district but must build, upgrade, and experiment to reach more dangerous and isolated areas. You'll encounter other robots and elements as you navigate through dilapidated rooftops and eerie ruins.

🎮Gameplay:

🔸The gameplay of Mechanical Lab revolves around exploration, vehicle crafting, customisation, expeditions and puzzle-solving. You’re not just constructing basic machines—you’re designing and fine-tuning every element of your creations, from wheels and engines to weapons and defence mechanisms. Each upgrade is meaningful, and the way your vehicle performs on different hurdles adds a layer of strategy to every expedition. The thing I like the most about the game is the simplicity in the complexity. The game feels smooth and straightforward, yet has so much content to it. There are varied possibilities for building your vehicle with basic and advanced foundations, engine, sensor, trunk, logic control, and performance metrics like energy consumption and cooling. ------🔹Experimentation is the heart of the game. You might start with a simple wheeled vehicle, but soon, you’ll be creating hybrid machines for combat, resource collection, or navigating challenging terrains like steep cliffs or areas with explosives. Every part has unique stats and abilities that affect your build, making it crucial to think like an engineer and a tactician. Some puzzles will demand you to customise your machine with precision, adding platforms, grappling hooks, or even transforming components to reach specific areas. It's not just a linear experience of- do this and proceed to the next closed-up level. You have various challenges along the way, the expeditions, free roam, unlocking resources, completing challenges and collecting collectables like golden chicken. ------🔹Combat and exploration are both rewarding, but you need to balance your approach. Will you build a nimble, fast vehicle to outrun enemies, or a tank-like machine to crush anything in your way? Each district is full of surprises, so be prepared to adapt and rebuild often. And, of course, there’s the thrill of testing out new designs and seeing them succeed—or hilariously fail.

📷Graphics and Audio:

🔸 The game’s visuals are a mix of industrial decay and futuristic minimalism. It successfully captures the essence of a lost, mechanical city, with each district offering a unique atmosphere. From rusty rooftops to glowing tech remnants, the environments are meticulously designed to match the tone of the game. However, in some parts, repetitive textures can slightly hinder the immersion.

📝Main Pros and Cons:
🟩Pros- +Smart and rewarding vehicle-building system +Unique blend of exploration and puzzle-solving +Beautifully crafted post-apocalyptic environments +High replay value with numerous customisation options 🟥Cons- -Difficulty spikes in a few puzzles can be frustrating -Can be overwhelming for new players due to complex crafting
🏷️Tips for beginners:

🔸 Don’t rush into combat-heavy districts with your first vehicle build. Start small, focus on mobility, and collect as many parts as you can. This game rewards experimentation, so try out different combinations even if they look odd at first.

✉️Miscellaneous Information:
Upgrades- You’ll unlock different sets of parts and colours as you progress, so keep returning to safer districts to stock up and redesign your vehicle. Some upgrades can only be found in specific, hard-to-reach places, making exploration crucial for unlocking your robot’s full potential.
😇Verdict:

🔸 Mechanical Lab is a clever mix of exploration, combat, and creativity that will keep you hooked for hours. If you love building and experimenting, this game is a gem. Just be prepared to hit a few bumps as you master the intricate mechanics. Highly recommended for puzzle lovers and tinkerers alike!

Rating: 8.5/10 Building ugly-looking war machines.
one of the best vehicle editors I have ever played, building requires understanding specific rules but after a while you can build many crazy machines. i would recommend it to all construtors. its worth checking out as it has a slightly different atmosphere from all vehicles building games. It also offers the option to play the now-unavailable legendary game drones
It has a frustrating learning curve (hey Early Access so it can be improved!), but once you get pass that it offers a lot of fun, bite sized missions, lots of goals to pursue and stuff to unlock. See full review here: https://youtu.be/bbKXGwSDpck

good game and nicely designed building, some parts could be better explained, although there are a lot of them and its nice to discover new ones. The guided build mode is very helpful here.
Mechanical Lab is a creative and engaging game with an in-depth crafting system. the physics-based mechanics make every challenge exciting
《Mechanical Lab》
very fun but i think it needs a free build or sandbox mode
Learning curve is way too steep
