So please note that your experience may vary when playing on lower difficulties unless it does not have a scale in difficulty. I got this profuct for free, and I will keep my promise to make an honest and detailed review of this game. Although I would recommend this game for kids below 6 years old, I strongly do not recommend to everyone else. Gameplay The story is bland, children lose their stuff or animals and you have to catch everything for them. While doing this you gain points which can be used for some power ups. When going through an elevated part of the terrain the camera "jumps" to adjust itself. Gameplay is: catch this, run here, dress [strike](this is the part where I could not progress further because the game is broken).[/strike] The hit box of catching butterflies, frogs, balloons and etc is fine at its best. I jumped to the hardest difficulty this game has to offer and the only difference is you have shorter time to do all of your objectives but it is still even not remotely challenging. Levels are approximately 15-30 seconds long and every time it loads the next level my monitor blinks several times (disconnecting and back to the port). Controls are mainly with keyboard. While the font choice was ok for me, I think for children it will be very tough to read, especially since letters are spaced out. Graphics/Design This is a first indie game of the developer. Do not expect much here. [strike] It is ok and the only part I would change is bright colors in some places (but I guess for kids its ok, they pay more attention to bright colors). [/strike] Sound/Soundtrack/Voice Soundtrack is good and the only thing kept me playing as an adult. Really catchy beats which I am sure all generations will enjoy. The developer is active and fixed some issues since release. I recommned this game for KIDS ONLY! Mainly pre-school. Alright, I promised I would write a review! This game is all about just relaxing and catching some animals with your net. Unfortunately the story mode doesn't go beyond the "Checkpoint" tutorial because the 4th checkpoint just floats away in the air. So for now I spent most my time playing the Quick Play mode in which you can choose a level and then get all the time you need to complete all the objectives given in the top right corner. There isn't much of a challenge to this game and sometimes I have to wait till a certain animal has spawned before I can catch it. I personally think this game would be great for kids. It's easy and looks very nice. I especially love the Farm level! I also made a video about this game if you're interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj93L_qGD00

"Meadow Fun!!" is a very shallow and unambitious game for kids, the idea is you run around low poly environments with a net, capturing various stray animals, which is something you shouldn't encourage children to do. So I guess this immediately invalidates itself as a game on the premise alone. But wait, there's more, the technical delivery is a nightmare. What do you do in the game? The game plays like a top down brawler only with a net. There's 20 levels of awful. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay $100 and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Even though the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a minimum requirement for any game), we can be fairly sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $7 USD for this. Talk about delusions of grandeur. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 3 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Meadow Fun!!
